I know the LR3 has a rock crawl mode, but...
Bean, you would be surprised what you can do in an LR3. These guys are right. You can hang with the jeeps with just a little practice and experience. No need to turn around next time. Your local club is the best option to gain experience with a spotter. Have fun!- Johnson Rods

The GY MTR's with Kevlar have been great. I air them down to 20 lbs and they can climb just about anything plus I have a lot of confidence in not getting a flat with these tires. No issue with the C rating which I understand is ok for the LR3. Hope you all have a great 4th!- Johnson Rods

I run 32" GY MR/R with kevlar 275-65-R18 and have no rubbing. I did tie up the wires with a zip tie as they rubbed prior to the lift with my old tires. The 285-60 will rub off road with no mod.- Johnson Rods

With the rod lift you are diving in the off road mode for the normal setting and in the extended mode for the off road setting. The kit with the spacers also includes an adjustable rod so you may gain an additional two inches more than a rod lift alone. Can't tell you much about how well that...- Johnson Rods

Johnson Rods So long as you get an alignment there is no issue with running the rods full time. My rods do not exceed any limits as some would like to suggest. All-Terrain tire options for an HSE?
I did the same thing and traded in my 19" rims for 18's. I now run the Goodyear MT/R 275/65/R18. I have a Johnson Rod LR3 lift kit because these are 32 inch tires. Here is how they look: http: //www.johnsonrods.com Excellent tire!- Johnson Rods

MT/R with Kevlar Because of the Kevlar the tires have a load capacity of 2,535 lbs per tire which is plenty sufficient for the LR3. That's over 10,000 lbs and the vehicle has a curb weight of 5,796 and a gross vehicle weight of 7,121.- Johnson Rods

I have been running the Goodyear MT/R with Kevlar. I have the 275/65/R18 which is a 32 inch tire and they work great. I highly recommend this tire! It depends on what your needs are. If you need adjustability than an adjustable rod is for you. In that case Sasquatch makes a good rod.
