    2013-MY Rumors/Facts

I'd like to see something more rugged and utilitarian, less posh and street. OR!, just bring the 110 DEFENDER over to the States with a DISCOVERY 4 driveline. Land Rover has no idea the money they would be making if they pulled that off.

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

Good to know. I'm planning on running those trails as soon as the conditions allow it. Thanks.

tail gate latch failure (2nd time)

Here it is: I also managed to fix it and will do a bit of a write-up to help you guys. A bit tricky but definitely possible to do yourself (and not spend $500-$1000). First, get hold of the technical bulletin "LTB00191", I found one at http://www.**************/gallery/albu...iagnostics.pdf...

tail gate latch failure (2nd time)

I've done it and it's an absolute pain, especially if you happen to have large hands. I'll dig around. I know there's a nice write up that I used to get it done.

    buying a new lr4

"Most LR owners do not really take advantage of those capabilities." I hear this all the time. It's the biggest talking point in the Jeep camp. What's the big deal? There are plenty of Grand Cherokees, Patriots, Compass', and Liberties, not to mention RUBICON JK's that never even sniff a...

    Low Oil

Just checked ours. We're 3000 into our 7500 mile interval and oil level is a 1/4 down. It's only been 4 months.

    Low Oil

Interesting. We just rolled 115,000 and I haven't experienced any oil loss.Well, I haven't had to add any. We're on the 6 month or 7,000 mile program. I may check the dipstick level tomorrow. I'm curious now.

    Moab Trail Advice

Damn, We'll be showing up just as you're rolling out that Friday the 25th. We're going to be there until Sunday. We're planning on making it out there again in October for the LRNR. From the videos I've watched on YouTube, stock LR3 vs. J/K or Wrangler it's LR3 hands down. The weight and...

    Moab Trail Advice

ndrenfro, I like the way your rig is set up! I'll try to have my bolt-ons installed by Memorial Day Weekend. We're also heading out to Moab. We're definitely going to do Hell's Revenge. What day's are you going to be there? Maybe we can meet up.

    Making the LR3 trail ready

I'm totally with you. Our Range Rover has the OEM front brush guard, I'm familiar with what they're made of. I was just looking for something with more substance than a bracket to mount lights too. I'll also be a convenient place to wrap up a muddy tow strap. I don't plan on pushing trees over...

    Making the LR3 trail ready

I'll get pics up of the sump guard (same color as my wheels) and talking to the installer, he said he'd put the top edge of the clear bra in the body line along the door handles. Worst case I'll have a line along the body and not a bunch of surface scratches. With my rig being white, the...

Journey of Discovery - LR4 specs

I would be nice to see dealerships step in and create their own off-road versions of vehicles. Similar to the 60's musclecars, like the COPO Camaros and dealer built drag and road race cars.

    Making the LR3 trail ready

Getting back on track.... -Downsized the HSE from 19's to 18" 10 spoke SE wheels. -Powdercoated said wheels and wrapped them in 285 / Cooper Zeons This coming May I'll be busy bolting up the assortment of pieces/parts I've procured for the 3: -Removing OEM Running Boards and installing RR...

Journey of Discovery - LR4 specs

I'll second that! If Land Rover was to release a "Expedition Edition" LR4, very similar to the ones used in the trek to Bejing, I'd leave my desk right now and would be at the dealership placing an order. They need to get away from special edition mall crawlers and get back to their...

    Off Road Paint Protection

I was recently quoted $225.00 to 3M ClearBra the hood and both sides from the body line down. To me that's cheap insurance. As soon as I get a chance to make an appointment with the shop, I'll be there. Pictures will follow. I don't think it'll be "as noticeable" if it ends in the body line.

255/55/19 Cooper Zeons are a GO!

I can't really comment on the mileage. Road noise is "a little" more. I'm coming from Michelin Latitudes, which are dead quiet. Road manners and daily driveability, I'd have to give them 5 stars! Haven't really had to drive them in the rain or snow yet. They do feel really planted on dry roads...

19" Tire Option Discussion - Again!

David, I'm with you. They are surprisingly quiet and have awesome road manners. After putting the 285/65/18's on our 3, I didn't hesitate to put a set on the Range, they're THAT GOOD! Happy to hear you enjoy your purchase!

    Prosepective owner...need some advice!!

My Daughter uses her iPad too. We tether it to the 4G off my HTC EVO and she's off to the races. The capabilities and price of having an iPad, or two, for rear passengers far outweighs what the rear seat entertainment package can do.
