    Rubbing Noise from Steering Column

Both David and I had this issue with our LR4s and it was the steering wheel/inner plastic cover, rubbing against the plastic steering wheel cover. Was just out of alignment and was quickly fixed by the dealer. If this is the rubbing you're hearing, it's a simple/easy fix.

    Lr4 Brakes

You do realize that, that BMW "free" maintenance is actually priced into the COGs. Nothing is truly free. Also add in $500 bucks for their fancy ads, per unit. That brake job seems to be a bit high but new rotors, pads, the entire job for a premium car can be hard to swallow anyway. In the...

    Interesting LR4

That LR4 is pretty nice... those wheels are sick though.

Things you wish you knew when you purchased your first Land Rover

You could really screw someone up with a Maglite. I have four of them. The big one sits under our bed...

    LR4 on 20" Vossens & Nitto 421Q's

Those look really great. I wish LR would have offered more attractive wheels/or at least more options for '13.

    extended leather pack

You made the right decision with the kids and dog, one big scratch would suck.

    extended leather pack

Honesty, I have Ebony extended and it's very nice in black... if you're getting Ivory with the black dash the extended would look delicious.

    extended leather pack

I think if you're special ordering the extended leather is somewhat hard to pass up for 1K. They are both very durable. The leather dash and instrument cluster (with the stitching) really levels-up the interior. But, if you're buying off the lot and you love something and it doesn't have it...

    Newest 2014 rumors?

My neighbor has a Silver 2004 Disco II MINT with only 24,000 miles on her. She's 100% loaded, the push bar, the driving lamps, the old-school, REAL LR goodies... I think it's called an Adventure package or something. Nonetheless, it's absolutely beautiful and I yearn for it everyday when I see...

    extended leather pack

The extended leather is sublime but as Umbertob notes you can also live without it. Both are nice. You also can't beat the price... for the upgrade. It's almost given away IMO.

    Newest 2014 rumors?

Hey David... there was a swarm of '14 RRS driving around the city today... some sort of press junket or something. Anyway, the ones I saw were base models. I have a video of a black one... but too lazy to post it. It was okay, oddly, it looked smaller in person. More Evoque than I would have...

Been thinking about switching it up...

This is absolutely so true... I wouldn't tell people what I drove, but when I did, and said, "a Land Rover LR4..." they were like, "You get paid too much." What ever... never even bothered to explain. Little do they know a Suburban can be just as expensive or more. Drive an Escalade and you're...

Been thinking about switching it up...

I paid $51K for my '10 LR4 and kept it for three-years... traded her in for $40K. Unbelievable resale value - on a trade-in! I could have sold it myself and would have likely gotten $44K or so. The FFRR drop like a rock but most luxury cars do. The RRS is okay... nothing like the Discovery...

Just for grins: A few different LUXs. Which one?

I have the extended leather and love it to bits, but could also live without it. The color combination and HD package supersedes the extended leather ten fold. Corris with Arabica is a sick must have combo... Hot and classy.

    Corris with the Aribica, gorgeous.

Been thinking about switching it up...

What I find amazing about the LR4 is how much you get for the money, IMO, it is and as good as the outgoing FFRR, minus the regal badge and some more interior refinements that put the FFRR so far upmarket. Even my non-LUX LR4 felt way upmarket from its MSRP. The sticker was $56K, and I paid...

Been thinking about switching it up...

Here's my 2 cents. The outgoing FFRR is beautiful and always will be in my book, I'd personally get the NA 5.0 V8 HSE Lux though... because it's plenty powerful enough and not as expensive as the SC version... allowing you find a newer FFRR ('11, '12) under full warranty and possibly CPO. I...

Just picked up my new '13 Corris Gray HSE

I drove across the country three-times. It's an amazing experience. Exhausting though. But well worth the experience. I remember having a blow-out in Arkansas. And the AAA guy actually put on a new tire completely by hand. No fancy machines... just a set of tools and crow-bar. And when he...

    Newest 2014 rumors?

I was born in 1971... I didn't live the 70s... from the perspective of an adult, but those were very tough times for the country. The fuel crisis affected everyone, especially the car industry... from Mercedes to Ford... the awful cars produced are a true testaments of the side effect... some...

    Newest 2014 rumors?

Nice find, David. Sad to see the NA V8 truly phased out. I'm not in love with the choice LR made... but I really believe they didn't have a choice and consumers now need to face the reality that more efficient and smaller engine plants are going to be common place in all automobiles. Remember...

How to change the battery in LR4 key fob

It's far more fun to ask for help on the forum and build some bonding relationships than look through some boring handbook like a worm. :creep:

Just picked up my new '13 Corris Gray HSE

I still love the fact that LRs aren't so mass that you can get them anymore, anytime like BMWs and Mercs. It really does make this brand so much more special. Me love LRs... period.

    Newest 2014 rumors?

I absolutely HATE the new BMW-esque shifter in the upcoming '14 RRS. It's so damn dainty and flimsy looking... no leather boot either. Plastic too. Looks silly in a Land Rover - looks like it's been lifted from a Startrek episode. Funny how other "me too" car makers who have already gone...
