Driving lights/lamp installation,
It takes a lot of workmanship and time to install them. Have you inquired with an independent LR shop? Just be careful who you go with since LR has the measurement templates so when they start cutting into your bumper the size, shape and accuracy is not a botch job.- Count Laszlo

Land Rover - Made in India
I was a die hard BMW enthusiast and left the brand because their focus is the Chinese market where heritage means nil. It's very unfortunate legacy brands are dying for greater market share and magins. Although LR may go all India, let's hope they keep their philosophy.- Count Laszlo

BMW just built and opened several HUGE plants in China - not sure about Mercedes, but I'd assume they are doing the same. I wouldn't be surprised in 5- to-10-years that 50% of cars/suvs/trucks (regardless of manufacturer) are made in China or other emerging markets. It's all about margins and...- Count Laszlo

You MUST make sure LRNA has record of this issue/transaction. Since the truck is so new, they should give you a new LR4, same options etc. If that doesn't work, ask them for a full refund and walk. Go buy your RR somewhere else.- Count Laszlo

CD Loading...but no CD!
You could try disconnecting the battery and resetting, that may help. I never heard of this, so who knows. May just be best to take her in.- Count Laszlo

Will I miss the locking differential?
I agree it's an amazing deal. The full-size spare has a cost of somewhere near the cost of the HD package alone. I don't have the HD package, but have checked eBay for full-size spares and there are a lot of them around for a reasonable fee. I'd like to get rid of my mini-me-spare.- Count Laszlo

Weight does play a major factor when combined with high-performance. It's a mathematic ratio. Somewhat like power to weight ratios. And Japanese brakes are just as bad as American brakes. Hey Rob, I totally see what you're saying, that longer durability would be nice, but truly, any high-performance braking system designed with today's engineering aptitude and knowledge, don't last that long. I though I had to have the HD package, wouldn't take a LR without it. Well, after a ton of research, I said screw it and went forward with a non-HD search. And although I have only taken my LR4 off-road just once, let me tell you, it was pretty extreme and had no problems at all.- Count Laszlo

No offense, but Ford's "brakes" are truly bottom on the "engineering" barrel when it comes to technology, rotor size, and overall stoppnig power. How important is the rear locking differential for beach driving?
I sometimes I troll in the LR3 area - saying the LR4 has issues (stay away) isn't really correct at all IMO. The HD rear diff locking is for crazy, jungle off-roading, and I am sure most owners, diehards included, would never put their LR4s through that sort of terror. The LR4 is already superb out of the box.- Count Laszlo
