Never trust a mechanic, they're worse than used car salesmen, if you did not purchase the parts yourself from an LR dealer and watch the parts go in then you have no proof he used/bought LR parts.
I'm still highly suspect of rotors/pads that are this inexpensive. There are a lot of mixed reviews out there on maxbrakes and I would be concerned about the longevity/durability of these at the price.
thank you
Folks that had issues probably bought the cheaper ones from max brakes, the have 4...
I have been using Maxbrakes on all my cars for the last 2-3 years with zero issues. Very minimal brake dust, no pulsation and they catch impressively. Even my wife noticed the brakes are sharper. You have to order them which takes about 2-3 weeks. Buy the Elite Rotors (Black) and premium ceramic...
Just had my water pump and crossover pipe done at the dealer, I intentionally had it done at the dealer to avoid this kinda issues. I think moving forward who ever needs to replace their water pump and crossover pipe should at least buy the parts from the dealer since they have the most updated...
I have used arnotts product in the past on a Mercedes GL450, both air springs and their compressor with no issues and no programming needed. But it already says on the webpage that programming will be needed if replacing hitachi brand. It also says limited lifetime warranty so you really can't...
What sleeve/Gasket are you reffering to ?
About your Vibration issues, have you checked all the mounts ? Engine mount and Tranny mount ? one of them might be broken. Also folks on this forum have talked about some sort of weight that LR dealer sells that you bolt on the tranny to reduce...
But do you see a High pressure hose(usually has a very thick hose and bolted into the steering rack) and a low pressure/Return hose(usually has a flexible hose with an easy to remove clamp ? once you're able to figure out the return hose, drain fluid from there. Also which p/s fluid do you plan...
Something seems fishy to me, a 2010 with just 41k miles with a drivetrain whine...and large print saying sold as is ...something tells me the Odometer was dialed back from 141,000k to 041,000k
The dealer said mine is leaking as well but i haven't had a chance to check. I'm waiting for some warm weather. I'm at 193,000 km. It might just be a scenario were you just need to slightly tighten the bolt that goes to the rad or the other end coming out of the tranny. But we all know the...
I totally agree with Ktm525, If you happen to be a DIY kinda guy then you don't have much to worry about but if not then go for a LEXUS LX570, 4Runner Land Cruiser etc . The only reason i bought an LR was the fact that i could fix medium to high level stuff, i'm able to read codes, change...
I have cut open a few of my oil filters as well and they usually look pretty good on the inside but i still go ahead and change them with every oil change. My fear is not knowing after how many miles it would start to disintegrate.
Its a POS warranty company called Guarantee VC, I was surprised too when they said they wouldn't cover the crossover pipe. I bought my LR4 from a Hyundai dealer in Drummonville Quebec and that was the only warranty company they had.
I'm a DIY guy, the only reason i went there was because i bought extended warranty when i bought the car 2yrs ago and it was about to run out. The warranty company covered the water pump but did not cover the crossover pipe so i had to pay for that. My idler pulley was also noisy so i replaced...
It shouldn't really be a difficult project, Why not just look around the valve cover to see if all the bolts are accessible and also see if what obstructions might be along your path and figure out if you can remove them. I did my plugs during the summer and the last 2 closest to the firewall...
I change my oil filter with every oil change with any name brand full synthetic oil, whatever i find on sale, mobil, castrol , Pennzoil etc. Although most times i take the filter out i'm tempted not to change it because it usually still looks good. I do an oil and filter change every 7,000KM
The cheaper ones might have issues but for me i always buy their top grade which is the ELITE cross drilled and slotted rotors(Black) and the premium ceramic brake pads (grey/blue).
Strange problem and no Idea what it might be. if i had this kinda issue i would try several things with the hope that one might work, so i would disconnect the battery, or maybe drive in manual mode for a few minutes, or change the drive mode setting for snow, sand etc. Basically just try random...
Call them up and order a set, They have the factory, so they will have them manufactured within 14-30 days. I had to order mine and it took about 2 weeks. Make sure you order the Elite edition (Black) and the premium brake pads. Like i said earlier i have been using maxbrakes on all my cars for...
Just replaced my idler pulley, the one closest to the passenger side air cleaner box. The old one i took out was completely shot, I tried spining it and it was hard to spin and noisy. It probably would have failed in the next few days if i hadn't replaced it today. Check out video below.
Thats why we call them the stealership, 3/4 of the estimate is bogus, my LCA’s are fine, i have zero suspension noise and zero uneven tire wear. The technicians are very aggressive and are ready to say everything is bad. All my bulbs work and my wiper blades are new too but the estimate shows i...
