I 'm in love with this car!!

Just to clarify, were you upset beca7se you had issues with your LR3 or that LR changed in 2010? Either way, I think most LR4 owners feel the same way. I'm taking mine out off-roading again in a few weeks...it's absolutely amazing on the trails.

    Door unlocking question.

This is not true. My car only unlocks the driver door when I open the door. I have the passive keyless entry.

BLACK 2011 land rover LR4 ''METROPOLIS'' limited edition????

Yes, the metropolis is an HSE with a few accessories like full roof rack, white trim interior...etc. Outside has the black grill and side air intake and 20" wheels. Beyond that, from the LR Dallas webpage that had one, the only option on it was the HSE...no lux, which to me seems a little...

    iPod Functionality on the Dash

Like any car who has the integrated apple connection, you get the native iPod menus(playlist, iPod search...etc). USB is only folder driven. Plus, most navs have a limit on amount of music it can access on USB where using an iPod doesn't because the iPod acts as the "brain" and allows the nav...

    Extended Warranty

UGAgirl97, Do a search on this and the LR3 board as there are extensive posts on this topic that will give you better data points and things you will need to consider when buying a warranty. Generally, yes, you need to get a warranty if you plan on keeping the truck longer than the base...

    Should I buy?

Congrats, Cogo! Don't forget to get an extended warranty between 30-36k miles from the dealer if you plan on keeping it for a while. Also, check out your local LR club as they will help you with activities, tech days to work on your truck and local non-dealer shops. I think you mentioned...

    Should I buy?

Cogo, Go buy a 4runner as it sounds like its up your alley given your concerns and needs. The new grand Cherokee is also somewhat off road capable too. If your looking for the LR4 to be as reliable as a Honda or Toyota, you should not buy one. I did a whole bunch of research initially...

    power folding mirrors

I have 2010 lux with no vision package and I do have voice control but not folding mirrors. I believe vision package gets you folding mirrors, auto-leveling HL and surround camera.

    Extended Off road mode

I believe so as I know those johnson rods mod on the LR3/LR4 is to put the truck in higher clearance mode than normal.

    Leather care

Do you guys use Conolly or some other brand like Zeno? I've got premium leather, which is softer than the base so if that needs a different leather cleaner/conditioner, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Dash vibration poll--who also has this?

no, it doeant sound/feel like structural as much as some piece of plastic is vibrating at a certain engine throttle pitch. I read some where on this board that described a similar case that theirs was a loose wiper motor or something like that. Next time I'm at the dealer I'll have it checked...

sender issue covered under warranty - mine happened driving off the lot the day I bought it.

    Speakers/stereo issue

yup, had it happen twice in 2 weeks a month ago but not since. Read somewhere on this board where another guy had a radio problem that required the module that triggers the audio mode selection to be replaced. I plan on bringing this up along with the dash vibration I hear between 30-40mph...

    Snow mode

It's snow gravel and grass so you should be fine using it in any snow. It's in high gear so if you expect any accumulation for a few days, you can leave it in snow mode the whole time. We've had a lot of snow and and ice here in Dallas so I left it in snow mode all week.

About to make the jump to LR4 from Toyota 4Runner

I will say the tires suck on this truck. We've had some snow and ice here in Dallas this week and I've never gotten stuck, which is attributed to the terrain response, but stopping even under 10mph slips quite a bit. I have zero grip on ice even in slower speeds. Obviously, it's ice but my 08...

About to make the jump to LR4 from Toyota 4Runner

For me, I got a sweet deal for the Lux package even though I was looking for the HSE. The premium leather is worth it to me as the cheaper leather was stiffer and initially colder(test drove when it was 40 degrees) and took longer to warm up whether by just sitting there or using the butt...

About to make the jump to LR4 from Toyota 4Runner

I also came from a 4runner to an LR4. I agree with the above poster that you will need to get ready for more than just driving and filling up as these LRs do have electrical "gremlins" that are annoying at times. I've also had issues with the gas level but there was a TSB for the sender sensor...
