    LR4 vs Defender

Oh ya, lots of cars could get up that road but would they look so damn good once they got there?!? [emoji3]

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I'm having the same trouble getting them balanced. First 1500 miles, 0 issues, but ever since tough to get them right. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

    LR4 vs Defender

I was sure I would trade-in my 2012 LR4 on the new Defender. Like many here, the LR4 has been an all-time favorite vehicle for myself. 8 years and 80k is by far the longest I have ever held onto a car/truck and, knock on wood, it has been a super reliable ride. For the majority of it's its...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

It's not something that bothers me. I have the wind deflector installed which helps quite a bit. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

Looks great Craig. Surprised you don’t have any rubbing of frame horns at full lock as I did (though my install was with the LR3 wheels and spacers).

    Tactical 4x4 rear bumper questions

Thanks for the quick response. I'm guessing the mc carrier will work, and will just measure mine to see but thought someone may have already been hauling one with this set-up. I'm guessing if the tire is 10.5", the tire carrier will not add more than a few inches to that.

    Tactical 4x4 rear bumper questions

Maybe this has been answered previously but I can't find it, so for those who have experience with this bumper: 1. does the OEM LR hitch still work with the Tactical 4x4 rear bumper 2. is there clearance to carry a motorcycle in a hitch carrier mount with the spare tire in the Tactical carrier...

    Another Defender hint?

Do you imagine a bike carrier will work outside of the spare tire? I’m about to move the spare in the LR4 from underneath to the back and not clear if my bike carrier with a 500XCW on it is still going to work.

    LR 4 Retired

8 years and mine has been excellent <now looking for a lot of wood to knock on>. It seems like the experiences vary wildly which isn’t unusual. Who is going to post on a board like this: either people who really like the vehicle or those who have had a real bad time with theirs. I’m reminded...

And that is the path I am headed right down myself... :) Front and rear bumper will start to add some weight.

$5k/yr in repairs would have me running from that vehicle for sure. I had a BMW X6 like that, first couple of repairs seemed a better path than a new car but after a few too many it was just a downward spiral.

I have. Had to take it off to get the spare on but easy enough and it snapped back in without issue.

Very much appreciate the $0.02, that’s what a person can profit from on this forum - especially from people who have the real world experience. I’m pretty committed to moving forward with the upgrade plan as this is just a great vehicle for exploring and camping out of. I can see another $6k...

    LR 4 Retired

This thread has me questioning my desire to put some money into my ‘12 LR4 with 80k for more dedicated offroad work - it’s no longer a daily driver. It’s already got the 18” wheels and a RTT but I’m keen on a Tactical 4x4 rear bumper and tire carrier and then there’s the front bumper and winch...

    LR 4 Retired

My 2012 has 85K on it and has been pretty much maintenance free for 7 years. I did put some money into it recently but because it was time and not because anything was wrong. Thats about $643/year for maintenance outside of oil changes/tires etc... I'm in the process of turning it into a much...

For those that offroad their LR4...a few questions before I pull the trigger

My recent experience: '12 LR4 265/65/18s (31.6") 30mm spacers No caliper grinding Frame horn shaving (if full lock rubbing is an issue)

    LR4 and an odd 20in tire size..fit?

BFGs. For me, the only problem was the trailer hitch. Once it was taken off, no problem and then out back in. I did also remove the heat shield but I’m not sure how much of a difference that made.
