I still have to have the clunking looked at but it was definitely felt through the steering shaft. I'll have my guy check all of the above and report back with the findings.. Alternator going bad?
A year ago i had the similar symptoms, burning smell + light up dash icons. After replacing the alternator, I ended up replacing the battery too because of the major draw from the alternator. Fortunately, the battery was replaced under warranty.- goinsurfin

Bump I know most of you prefer a complete set of 4 or 5 wheels. However,if you prefer the 5 spoke design, they are hard to come by in nice condition. Consider taking these as a starting point or if you already have these on your rig, take one or both for the spare.... .thanks.- goinsurfin

Yakima roof rack vs gas mileage
You will see a drop in mpg with a rack and/or box up top. Having a fairing actually helps reduce the buffering sound of air going under the bars and not so much with mpg. 3 car seats in an LR4?
Hope my perspective helps here with my kid placement in the LR3... we now have 3: 6, 4, and 1.5yrs. The 6 yr sits on driver side 3rd row with a sideimpact type graco booster (works great!), the 1.5yr is on pass side facing rear (safest way to face for kids almost under 2 yrs and X lbs..)...- goinsurfin
