The "knock" sounds deep, like knocking on a table ... I cannot say it is external or internal... I can't make it out. I also have heard and had the "tink, tink, tink" from the Fan. I will try to record a sample of it. -

ktm525, it might be... my fan clutch was making clicking noise this winter. I did not think that its issue could exhibit also as a knocking. I think I need to fix the fan first and rule that out. -

"Ping" sound from engine when cold
Hi all, I just wanted to chime in and say that I had the timing tensioners and the guides are done on my 5.0l, along with timing chains. A previous post referenced the viscous fan being the issue. I think that would be the case too as mine just exhibited the same ticking after all that work... -

AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP LEVELING
Hi all, TOPIX decodes my VIN as having AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP LEVELING. My LR4 is a 2010 HSE with halogen headlights and I have not noticed them to self-level. Is that a standard option? My understanding is that the Xenon lights had this feature. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -

Quick update, I purchased a CTek battery charger and let it do its thing. I chose the recondition mode for my Napa AGM battery. The issue I described originally has not returned ever since. -

Hi, I just had this job done by a local indi. Here is a pic they send me while doing the repair. I had them replace the water pump while in there. All In all it was at 18 hour job they said. They replaced the timing chains in addition to the chain guides and tensioners etc... -

I second the note about the tires he mentions. I have them on my LR4 and they are quiet. On my LR3 I had the Good Year Duratrac... the tread pater especially the profile I thought it was better looking. They were also quiet. -

There are lawsuits in place against the maker of those guard rails... it is a design flaw.- armozo
