Embarrassed by lack of 4x4 capability

this thread is slightly disappointing. I know forums mostly point out the negative points of things and shares ideas on how to overcome them. But this was one thread I was almost reluctant to read. I came home from overseas and decided on buying a luxury ALL terrain vehicle. I researched the LR3...

    TSB's...where can I get them?

Do you guys know where I can get all the service bulletins for the LR3 without paying? I am going to the dealer for my 15,000 service and need to take some ammo with me. My dealer is not the "proactive" type. They only react to problems when customers complain. I really need the tire wear...

    Metal Rubbing Steering noise

had the same problem. probably one of the most God awful sounds i ever heard. believe it or not the fix was to lube the bumpstop. thats it. should take more time to write it up than to fix it. i cant make guarantees, but id put my money on it.

wheels, where did you get yours?

i am on the hunt for some wheels for my LR3. I called all my old suppliers for whats available, and found out that unless i want factory wheels or 22"+ heavy chrome, i was SOL. Other than TSW i really could not find any other options. I would like to keep 18" or 19" wheels to maximize tire size...

scratches, dings, dent, but not from fun

the winter season reacked havoc on my paint and wheels. i wash my rover as much as possible, but this weekend i gave it a pretty good overhaul and it showed some pretty good wear. i agree that a rover deserves some good dings and dents here and there, but only if you have a good story to go...

Thirsty engine, Jag is draining gas

i guess its pretty safe to say that most people are 12-14 mpg in tne winter. there is some local gas company that claims to have low additives in the winter compared to everyone else. im gonna give them a try and see how it works out with that. the dealer says that my mileage is a little low, so...

    Squeak Rattle and Roll

i too had that rattle in my roof. i took it in and the sunroof had a piece of hardware was not tightened properly. they fixed the rattle but cause a cosmetic issue that has been driving me crazy ever since. they could not get the pillar cover back on properly, so from the front of the vehicle...

Thirsty engine, Jag is draining gas

that is definetely another issue. in my old job, we sold many fuel treatments for winter gas and diesel. i know that many people in this area still use iso alcohol treatment to remove all possible water in fuel, and of course diesel anit gels. the fuel is definetely different here in the winter...

Thirsty engine, Jag is draining gas

so far i guess im not too far out of the scope. i would say that this has been for the last 5 or 6 tankfuls. we did have some snowy roads and less than perfect conditions in the past week. so i knew i wound not get great mileage then. but the last few tankfuls have been consistantly low. i dont...

Thirsty engine, Jag is draining gas

either i have some mad max junkie siphoning all my gas or my LR3 is just not as efficient as she used to be. All tires have proper air, i drive the same highway mileage as always. I own a 2006 LR3 V8 and live in the northeast US. I have 12000 miles on my rover and now get 12.5 mpg or 250-270...

    Supercharger & Brembo Brakes. . .on LR3

its surprising to see someone concerned with braking. most of my customers used to spend thousands on going fast, but never on slowing down. i would start with a standard upgrade. its way cheaper and maybe all you need. the stock LR3 brakes are great IMO, but the dust is enough to drive anyone...

    Wiper Blades

i would recommend those. I FORMERLY worked in a speed shop and pushed Silblades to anyone speaking wipers or vision in general. I do not work in the industry any longer but can tell you, you will not be disapointed. I recommend buying local, because if you ever have problems, they will just swap...

Tire Pressure Monitors And Daytime Running Lights

TPMS, I have an 06 SE apparently with a simple version of TPMS. I did not know I even had it. A light on my dash lit so i looked on my info center and it just had an i. so i assumed the little picture on my dash was a tire and checked pressures. My left rear was a couple lbs low. When i filled...

    Premium fuel?

I would definetely recommend premium. I cannot say from experience, but I took my vehicle in to the dealer for poor gas mileage. (used to be 15-18, now 13-15) The dealer asked if I used premium fuel. I told him i did but asked what the consequences of regular fuel are. They told me that the...

    upgrades, accessories, add-ons, ect.

thanks for the link. that stuff is the best yet, replacement is way better than overlay. i have dealt with many wood dash companies over the years. some of our customers preferred synthetic over real wood. i would never do my rover wrong with synthetics. Some wood you can get away with. But faux...

    upgrades, accessories, add-ons, ect.

excellent work. its good to see someone taking interest in the LR3. I hope the product lines expand. I know there will never be a demand like more "popular" SUV's, but i still like to see options for those of us who choose to pilot the LR3. Anyone, have this molded dash kit? I am interested...

Hello all, I brought this up a few months back and want to hear again from others on what they have. I for the most part am happy with all the factory goodies that came with my LR3. I just want to get an idea of what you all have put on or want to put on yours. I also would like to hear about...

    cruise control wont engage

hello all, i was wondering if anyone else had any issues going into cruise control. most of the time the cruise control will only turn on when i hit the accelerate button on the steering wheel. once in a while if i hit the cruise control on button it works. but usually not. i tried engaging it...

    upgrades

working at a parts shop for a long time let me see a lot of cool parts. i always did a lot of research on air intakes and filters. the intake offered by atlantic british is a disgrace to anyone who owns a landrover. unless it is not like the pictures it looks like a waste of time. an open filter...
