    LR3 Navigation install

Navigation is a SYSYEM, incorporated into the car. To retrofit the factory NAV would required the body, fascia and roof harnesses to be swapped, as well as the antennas, modules and the like added/swapped. To do all of that, you will need to remove the interior to access the harness space under...

    A-Frame Installation

The attaching parts come in a kit and you get every mounting piece. If it has 4 through holes to mount it through the bumper, you need VUB502880. If it does not, it mounts with tabs on the back that go to the bumper, you need LR005238. I hope you got a smokin; deal, because they come in @ appx...

    Rear Wiper Disconected

Just for kicks, you could try to tighten the arm down. Under the cap at the base of the arm is a nut. Position the wiper where you want it and see if snugging it does anything. If not, they killed it. Hollywood is right, that thing is darn near cheap! Part# DLB500074. Reread post, sounds like...

    A-Frame Installation

Www.ownerinfo.landrover.com WWW.OWNERINFO.LANDROVER.COM was working a minute ago. 06/12 2:19 PM. There are 2 different part #'s of A-bar. VUB501210, which has bolts that go through the front to install, and LR005237, which uses a tab-bracket @ the back for installation. Good Luck!

    2005 LR3 "black lugs"

Your eyes do not deceive you. Early 2005 cars came with black lug nuts, and maybe 6 mths into production changed them to chrome style (RRD500290). At one point there was a dead part # and vin break. Now, there is no part #, nor reference to these in Microcat, so rookie Parts Specialists will not...

    black grille badge

Per Microcat: DAG500140 which later superceded to DAG500160. DAG500160 should retail in the neighborhood of $20 @ the parts counter. I hope that this helps

    Phone hookup

Not a dumb question. All of the cars have the keypad and phone buttons on the dash. Bluetooth cars also have paddles on the RH side of the steering wheel for phone control. From your description, your car is not equipped w/ Bluetooth, and would have to be added. Around here, it comes in @ around...

Does the LR3 have the same brake rotors / pads as the RRS?

Per Microcat ( the Land Rover parts catalog), the brakes are the same front-rear between V8 LR3 and non-Super RRS. Sensors are listed as different, probably a length/routing difference between caliper/body harness.

Could new air filter improve fuel economy?

The factory interval on an Air Filter is 60K - Ludicrous! Air Filter Tire pressure Drive gentle I'm @ 11.5 w/ expedition rack and 265/65/R18. Numerically, that's more like 12.1 mpg since the speedo is off due to tires. Not much you can really do.

Turn off daytime driving lights - Bi-Xenons?

DRL is setup through IDS. It is computer controlled, has no seperate fuse and can only be activated/deactivated through IDS. I am curious, Why is DRL so bad? I would think it would be a bonus. On SII it can be programmed in, and I think a relay is needed. I beleive the instructions are on...

Turn off daytime driving lights - Bi-Xenons?

Programmed through IDS @ dealer. Not a user selectable option. What is interesting is that US cars don't normally have this activated.

    Think I'm totalled?

I'm glad you are okay. My money is on NOT a total. I've had one simmiliar, but impact point was r/r @ the wheel and bent the frame beyond repair. (I made damn sure it wasn't going to total before I ordered that upI). With a good body shop, it will all be just like new in a month or so!

You could try www.car-part.com to locate pre-owned, but I show them new for under $100. That sounds fairly reasonable to me.

Power Outlet - Cigarette Lighter - how to mod?

For key on power for a Sirius Unit, I have tapped into the cigarette lighter/power point in the dash w/ no issues. As for always on power, I'm leery as the car "senses" way to much, and if it stays awake, will keep the modules powered up, draining the battery. If someone has tapped into...

Tapping into Aux input from behind?

If you pull that little unit forward , it pops right out. You might be able to hot wire it inside the console. Try a search under "AUX". the big problem though, is that inputs through the AUX port are like 4-6 volume #'s lower than stereo volume.

    2006 LR3 V6 quick question

Dang Rich, Quit telling everyone where the cheap gas is! To protect the innocent, I know this guy with a V8 LR3 and he ran it on the cheap low grade stuff for while while his wife was between careers. The car had no issues/notable changes. YMMV.

Key Safe options for the LR3 FOB?

I was thinking about this, and it basically going to be a flat piece of bar stock. The intent is to replace keys shanks in remotes if needed. The shank part of the key is basically a short flat piece of metal held in by a roll pin and may be difficult to use as a spare. Or, maybe with some...

Key Safe options for the LR3 FOB?

Mayve just get a Key Shank? I don't recall how hard it is to operate the door locks manually, but for what it is worth, the keyshank is available by itself, appx $30.00: Land Rover North America, Inc. PARTS BULLETIN CIRCULATION: Bulletin: PGI08-02 Date: 14 MAR 2008 Model: LR3 (LA), Range...

LR3 makes "Worst of the Worst" used car list

Lumping those 2 together is ridiculous. Kinda makes you wonder about the credibility of the publication? Generally I respect what I read from those guys, but this is obviously wrong. One the Discoverys we had "Operation Pride" where we had a list of things to do to correct issues on cars as...

New tire choices for 255/55/19 HSE

Just lift it. P38's if you lifted the car by the frame, the airbags would come undone. The suspecsion design of the LR3 is different, and as many times as I've had it in the air, or in the shop to fix it from being in the air, it's never been a problem. I know of no way to lock the suspension...

    Automatic Car Wash and Snorkel

The factory roof rack will make it through the car wash, (brushless high pressure), and snorkel should be okay. Trirling brushes and stuff, roof rack okay, snorkel, no okay, will rip the top off. From your post, it seems to me that you were led to beleive it is a snorkel, for deep water. It's...

TPMS for a second set of wheels/tires...

I've been told that you bolt them on and drive them. When we rotate tires, we don't do anything special, just drive them. The owners manual essentially says the same: A replacement sensor must be fitted to a running wheel in order to be recognised by the TPMS. Recognition only occurs when...
