Our trip was to moose factory Ontario on ice road. I had the suspension issue occur once on initial start up. As you say cleared when warm. Also firmer ride initially too. A number of years ago we had lr club member trip to Go prepared and dont go alone. We had 3 trucks, SPOT, food and gear. -

I did my own artic testing with a 100k+ miles lr3 on synthetic oil. It started and ran ok at -38c without block heater. Once all warmed up it performed well. -

Coolant Flush
Wonder why the workshop manual doesn't mention the T bleeder when doing a drain and fill. I just read that someone used that as bleed point when doing final top off fill. Just dont understand why that is not mentioned in shop manual. Wonder if drain process should include opening this T bleeder... -

5 hours ! I was hoping to install one for a far north trip, could be -35c or below.. but that is big investment for a few days trip. -

Will our LR4's be desirable in 10 - 15 years, or are they just another modern day LR?
I think the D2 is the most likely next LR to become classic. Last of the live axle real land rovers, relatively rust resistant except later chassis, great to drive, uniquely styled, fairly easy to work on. I find it disturbing that LR enthusiasts are scrapping them.. "more than it's worth"... -

Later spare tire winch and full size spare.. is it better?
Preferred the old nut winder method over the hole for winding operation. The jack handle doesnt fit/work well as cannot fold down rear load area seats. -

Does Air suspension need to be in Offroad mode for Hoisting jack?
I think setting to off road height might be preferable and may help slightly if your vehicle getting a little older. With engine off pump won't run. Off road height may reduce bag deflation when artificially extended to max extension due to lift. I had problems this year with 2 post lift. We... -

Land Rover oil filter seal leaks
I had oil leak from new land rover OEM filter shortly after an oil change on my LR3. The filter was tight but still leaking. I am told by a knowledgeable Land Rover mechanic that this is not unusual. The rubber seal they use is a bit skimpy. He recommends using Bosch filters. May be Land... -

One important area you are missing is dependability on the trail. I have been out on trail and seen a couple of P38s just drop to the bump stops and have to drive out - not pretty. I have owned lifted D2 with additional strategic armouring - works great. But even that becomes maintenance issue...
