Whydahdvr, that's a great idea. I will do some prototyping on card board. Then bring in the car to the factory and do the fitting. That will get the ball rolling for the next cuts. Just need a local rig that is fitted with skid plates to base it off of I guess, I believe that will make it a bit... -

This weekend I was visiting a friend's mechanical factory in Monroe, WA and then it dawned on me that I can have him build me some skid plates for LR3. His factory is fully equipped with plasma cutters, welding machines, bending machines and all sorts of other stuff that I don't know the names... -

Just checking to see what do you guys recommend for a decent ODBII Diagnostics device in the market? Looking for something that can read codes and has database updates, fault clearing etc. Someone mentioned CarMD, any good? Ideas? References? -

duckdive, I did think about those points. Here is what I am going to do. Drill a hole on the plastic cover the size of the mount. Thread it in and use rubber washer on top that came with it and a nut. At the base I will attach a metal bracket to the lower threaded part of the mount. Screw it... -

I opened it and seems like it will do. Its actually on the metal and can offer ground plane if mounted correctly. Plus I have the detachable kind so the antenna is only mounted when needed. Attaching pic for explanation. I won't have to drill holes as it is already present, and the wiring... -

I noticed that at the end of the roof there is a lip with plastic covering. Since mine is SE model, I am assuming that opening is for GPS antenna that comes with HSEs. I was thinking of using that spot to attach the Ham antenna, plus it will offer a good metal ground plane for it too. Wiring... -

Called the stealership. They said they can try out different keys to see if they can open it. If not they will drill out the lock and replace it with a new one. The new kit is needed regardless even if they were able to open it with their keys so that I can have a new set. The part costs... -
