    Air suspension compressor motor innards

I disassembled my old suspension compressor to see what could be remanufactured or salvaged. Here are some pictures of the motor assembly. It is difficult to see in the pictures, but the motor was totally burned out and smelled horrible. If a suitable low cost replacement motor could...

    Same compressor in Range Rover?

A close up of the RR part number. A close up of the LR3 part number. Here is the hairline crack on the RR compressor that is probably causing the suspension fault. The crack is right between the two connectors.

    Same compressor in Range Rover?

Here are some pictures of the two compressors. I was running late for work this morning when I took the pictures, so the quality is rather poor. On the left is my dead LR3 compressor (RQG500060) and on the right is the Range Rover compressor (RQG500041). They both have wiring for power...

    Same compressor in Range Rover?

I have the old LR3 compressor, model RQG500060. I'll try to take pictures tonight and post them.

    Same compressor in Range Rover?

It was bubble wrapped fairly well and put in a simple beat up cardboard box. Hard to say if shipping was hell on it, but I have a friend who used to work at UPS and he said all the packages got tossed about, even the ones marked fragile :frown:

    Same compressor in Range Rover?

Over a month ago I began experiencing suspension faults, coupled with loud noises from the compressor. Shortly after, the compressor died, and I purchased a used one on fleabay for something like $65. The compressor never arrived and it took a lot of initiative on my part to get the seller to...

Air Suspension Failed... what mods to do now?

Here is the link from another forum. It's about 2/3 of the page down. Good way to verify if the compressor is indeed dead or if it is something else.

Air Suspension Failed... what mods to do now?

There is a way to directly activate the suspension compressor by removing one of the relays and jumping the connection. It's a good way to test if the problem is the compressor or something else triggering a fault. I'm on my iPod right now; I'll search for the link tomorrow from my desktop.

    New issue-speaker

I had the same issue. It was specifically the driver's side woofer in the front. Like dantheman1, raising the volume would cause the speaker to "pop" back alive. About a month ago I took apart the door trim and tried disconnecting and then reconnecting the speaker connection to see if that was...

    Front and Rear Lamp Guards

On a slightly side note, do these types of lamp guards really offer any measure of protection, or are they merely cosmetic? To me, it looks like the offending object, whether it be a tree branch or a boulder, would have to hit at just the right angle in order to be deflected.

    Remote Lock/Unlock

I had an intermittent remote earlier this year. The problem was corroded wiring next to the passenger front sill. Is you carpet damp around the front passenger floor?

floorboards soaked, and I mean SOAKED

roverman, the drain holes are on the four corners of the sunroof. The front two are fairly easy to access, but the rear two are recessed, making them difficult to pour water into. I used a sport bottle to squirt water into the holes. To test the rear two holes, it helps if the vehicle is parked...

    LR3 Body Panels & Exhaust?

There is a guy on the Los Angeles craigslist site selling a hood, grill, and lower tailgate from a 2007 LR3 for $350.

    Squeaky LR3

I realize the issue at hand is squeaking, but while you are down there, you might want to address potential swaybar knocking as described in this link from another forum. It seems to be a stop-gap measure more than a fix as the bushings are not being replaced.

    anyone seen these bumpers?

The top half of the front bumper reminds me of the railing in the last scene of Empire Strikes Back where Luke and Vader duel. The bottom half looks like an armored personnel carrier. And the back reminds me of a wheelchair lift. But I give them an A for effort.

    Crazy Cooper Zeon Tire deal...

285/40/18? Won't those make the LR3 look like a clown car? Oh, I see, the link says 285/60/18. That does seem like a good deal.

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

I just read the post (#331) about the rhino lined LR3 and then this morning I saw it while driving on the freeway. How funny. Up close it looked weird because the finish had that sandpaper texture to it.

    Parking Brake Lock-Up

There were rumors (completely false ones) that Ford calculated it would be cheaper to pay off any lawsuits arising from Pinto deaths/injuries rather than redesign the vehicle. I hope LR does not try to brush this potentially dangerous issue under the rug. Do you hear me Mr. Rover?

    Exhaust Mod

Maybe somebody could check if the exhaust is getting into the cabin with one of those home carbon monoxide detectors. Carbon monoxide is odorless and invisible, so it can be tricky to detect.
