n00b here with new LR4 brought by Santa - 4 issues:

WOW! I just found this in the online owner's manual and it looks like it was from a 2010 version. All of us 2010 owners that had the cable included were lucky, I guess. "A dedicated iPod™ lead is available as an option from your land Rover dealer. Plug in your iPod™ with the usual care...

n00b here with new LR4 brought by Santa - 4 issues:

Not included in 2011? Might be so. I see they no longer call it iPod connectivity on the website. It now just says "Portable Audi Interface" and is included in the base model. I'd call 1-800-637-6837 and complain to Land Rover directly. I hate how manufacturers are "de-contenting"...

The cable should be included with your package.

I've never seen a lower gear ratio offered as a package or as a requirement with a locking differential. Optional but not paired. There are number of automatic locking differntials available for street use. GM's Eaton unit installed on millions of pickups is one. De-tuned is a poor word...

Cable is included in the package. Not sure of the cost to replace it.

All manufcturers are different in how they employ their locking differentials. Some are indeed only Limited Slip and not true locking differentials but are labeled as such. Land Rover Active Locking Rear Differential option does NOT include lower gear ratio. It is an electronicly activated...

Sat is available with HSE and above packages. If you have the base model, you don't get sat radio. I think the same is true for the iPod. No HSE, no iPod. Thumb drive still works with base model.

Burning brake pad smell after stopping after uphill climb

How many miles? I noticed a strong burning smell for the first 1500-2000 miles especially under similar conditions as you describe.

    vibrating steering wheel

Sorry for sounding like I'm down on LR. I do love the vehicle overall but am really dissapointed by a few minor things that I have come to take for granted on a $60,000 vehicle. Sounds like the OPs problem is not brake related at all. Vibrations through the wheel are not normal. Ask to...

    vibrating steering wheel

Using the parking brake every time you park is using it unnecessarily? Are Land Rover brakes that poorly made that they cannot be used as intended? Really? You've said in another post that it should not be accellerated like a sports car (or something like that). What's next - don't drive it...

    Best Tires Need Help

Hankook Ventus are getting pretty good reviews and for $180 each, you can't beat the price. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Hankook&tireModel=Ventus+AS+RH07&partnum=555VR9RH07XL&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Land Rover&autoYear=2006&autoModel=Range...

    Pulls hard right on acelleration

I generally agree with this but the RRS and LR4 have the exact same drivetrain. The Land Rover off road mystique is all but lost on the LR4.

    Pulls hard right on acelleration

No. X5, Denali and Touareg all send 60% to the rear initially and can vary it as needed. I would love to talk to a LR engineer.

    Pulls hard right on acelleration

I've had owned a variety of vehicles over the years, most of them high performance and a few were front wheel drive like my tuned Volvo 870R. Even with unequal half shafts and boatloads of torque, it did not pull like this. My previous car was a GMC Yukon Denali that is roughly the same size...

    2010 RR Sport vs 2011 LR4 HSE

I just drove the RR Sport HSE while my LR4 was in for service. I have to admit that both my wife and I felt like the RR was quicker than the LR even though the engines, transmissions and final drives are identical. The 300lb weight difference would be roughly like 30HP increase which fells...

    Pulls hard right on acelleration

Well, I just got back from the dealer where 3 out of 4 LR4s I drove all pulled hard to the right under accelleration. Chalk this up to a horrible and unsafe design. BTW, the RR Sport HSE they loaned me did too but not nearly as bad.

    iphone 4 compatability

It might be that Apple changed the USB charging voltage or pins at some time after your car was built. You might try something like this http://www.scosche.com/products/productID/1667

    Pulls hard right on acelleration

In theory, I guess a bad CV joint could impart more friction to one axle shaft but would it be so great, especially at such a neutral angle to cause that much torque loss? I have not taken traction control off nor have I been able to take it off road yet but if the dealer can't figure it out...

    Pulls hard right on acelleration

Thanks. The dealer rode with me and saw first hand how it pulls. He even said it was odd. Not driving it like a race car but like it would be driven in the real world. Imagine being on a two lane road behind a slow vehicle and need to pass it in a short distance. Here in the USA, that means...

    Pulls hard right on acelleration

I am very familiar with 60's and 70's muscle cars. I have several very high HP cars in my stable from 1932 to 1969. :) Torque is what causes the problem. My issue is that not all LR4 cars exhibit this behavior. Two others I drove tracked true under full throttle. This leads me to...

    Pulls hard right on acelleration

Tire pressure is spot on. That is the first thing I checked but wasn't holding my breath that it was going to be the problem. A body lean due to offset weight or air bag pressure differences will not cause this. The physical geometry of the suspension (toe, camber, caster, etc.) has been...

    Pulls hard right on acelleration

Under moderate to hard accelleration, myLR4 pulls hard right. When lifting the throttle, it reverses this trend. The dealer has looked at it twice. First time they adjusted the rear alignment but second time said everything was OK. My friend's LR4 tracks true and does not exhibit this...
