Pulley part # for 5.0 tensioner

If it sounds like a bad alternator or power steering pump. Especially on the ac/ power steering pump side...It might just be the pulley bearing on the tensioner. $20 vs $150 ... Littens part#900056A. Was in stock, 30 mins at advanced auto. Made in USA to boot...

    2010 5.0 V8 wildly different MAF values?

Correct, It is one tb but the ecu will be seeing wrong total volume of incoming air. Either 25% more or less than actual depending on which maf is accurate...no? Maybe the 02 sensors added, it can figure it out...but still cant be 100%?

    2010 5.0 V8 wildly different MAF values?

Working on the sorta new to me lr4. While monitoring engine temps, doing cooling work, I added MAF values. Noticed one bank read ~500g, and another ~1000g. Different brands of MAF's too. Not sure which is bank 1, or 2. One is Denso, one is Delphi. Should be causing vastly different fueling with...

    Skf front bearing for $32!

Regularly check rock auto for closeouts...today they had one front SKF wheel bearing for 31.79! Since these land rovers seem to eat them frequently, seemed like a prudent purchase!

Belt began squeaking above 1000rpm...what is this?

Possibly, waiting on the 36mm wrench to pull fan and do belts. hopefully I get a better Idea of what's going on when I can see more.

Belt began squeaking above 1000rpm...what is this?

I bought new belts at purchase in april, just haven't gotten around to doing them.about a week ago( after doing plugs) I noticed a squeak that sounded like a glazed belt. Looking at engine bay i saw this. And it was after I did plugs because i cleaned and aerospace 303'd the engine plastics...

    Bullet Proof Control Arm Bushings

Ive seen the armored suspension bits too. Coming from Mercedes world, the armored bushings had different durometer ratings. Gave a stiffer ride on standard cars. Might be an option if one wanted to stiffen up suspension using factory parts. Rather than the problematic urethane bushes people tried.

    Colder plugs...worse mileage?

Thanks all...I think we can close this case. Mystery solved. ( And i woulda got away with it if it weren't for you dang aerodynamics) Fuji...About 2mpg on highway. Was holding steady at 15.5 since April though. Dropped right after plugs. Didnt know if anyone else saw similar.

    Colder plugs...worse mileage?

I did not check gap. Ive always left thin electrode plugs as is so as not to damage them. I only gap copper plugs. Ill see what a few more tanks of gas have to say. Of that first tank I did a few hours on highway at 80+ so i think efficiency fell off the cliff at those speeds

I hate rust belt.....rear upper arms were a PITA

I too enjoy 4 seasons. Looks to me that these are the original 2010 arms. At least when these get done again everything has been slathered in antisieze. Still baselining everything from april purchase. Went with AB arms

    Colder plugs...worse mileage?

OMW... looks like LYSDEXIA strikes again. 6 came out, I put 7's in. I'll fix the original post. But they looked good. Viewed as they would be in relation to driver seat (lhd.) lower left is closest to driver.

I hate rust belt.....rear upper arms were a PITA

Ill let the pictures do the talking. About 4 hours to drill through that bushing in the knuckle.

    Colder plugs...worse mileage?

Got around to doing plugs on the new to me lr4. It looks like new spec is one colder. At 137k Likely the ngks in there were original as they were "6's", now they spec "7's". I have run a tank through it and it looks like mpg dropped. Anyone else seen this?

    Open to Suggestions

OOF, so you bought a new to you truck, changed oil twice and it munched #3? Sorry to hear. what oil were you using? or do you think it was already an issue prior to you buying? What to do is a personal decision. Wholesale its a $5-7K truck (working) and prices look to be falling. I'd base my...

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

It will be for function. Past the point of "looking cool". Want to fit decent sidewall. PO put 20" with Toyo's, trying to decide on 18's I like. Want to start with lift/18's/nerfbars and go from there based on troubles I encounter.

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

agreed, for the most part. Alignment wont address all of the suspension parts though. Carrier/knuckle bushings and non eccentric bolts specifically.

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

Looking threads of those with lifted trucks, I don't see any mention of loosening and retightening the suspension bolts to help preserve the bushings. (or haven't looked enough) Is it just such a no brainer that no one mentions it? Or do people slap on lift rods and then not make the connection...

LR4 V8 smog help - catalytic monitor won't get to ready state

No, but FSM instructions said to disconnect negative terminal prior to removing all the plastic, and moving the transfer case computer.
