New to forum, new to brand, and very pleased
i would suggest you confirm with your service department you have the latest update for the nav and entertainment system if you bought between nov-february....the service dept will have to run your vin..... -

just got 2011 LR4 with lux
almost 6weeks later and they finally have the parts to fix it.....however i bought a code reader from autozone and cleared the code to get the check engine light off, and hasn't come back on for almost 2 weeks now........so i doubt they will fix it without the code......maybe a little break in... -

About to make the jump to LR4 from Toyota 4Runner
i went jeep to lr4........ these are great trucks, that ride well and feel solid......it is highly engineered.....it performs well, is very comfortable.......but also very complex......it has something like 900 different sensors and monitoring functions.......it is a huge step up in luxury... -

Nav system disclaimer. Make it go away!
my jeep used to have it, until a software update and it would time out after 10 seconds or so......guess they had gutsier attorneys....... -

Multitude of problems
safelite autoglass quotes a replacement front windshield non heated but with rain sensor for 516.00 .........so just replace it aftermarket with a non heated version.....not sure though if you will get some of kind of sensor error without the heating element present..... if you keep it... -

LR4 Halogen Bulb Upgrading - Highly Recommended
some think that the yellow color of the fogs actually helps vision in real fog.....as it might be less reflective than light with a higher color temperature..............but i def agree the higher color temp is nice in non fog conditions -

buy distressed jeans that have less color !!! maybe there is some kind of leather protectant that would help..... -

yes, but how do you get the map data to your dealer to then upgrade the map software ??? it is a dvd, that they then load onto a device that updates the nav software through a firewire port under the steering column..... the lr2 is actually a dvd.............. my previous jeep, used a... -

yes it is supposed to be based on your vin somehow.......i think that security measure is causing the problems with the current free update..... -

it looks like the locking diff is simply an electronically actuated clutch pack.....so not a true locker.....enough torque could make the clutch packs slip.....i thought i read somewhere the locking diff was a lower geared axle ratio than the non locker, as number of manufacturers have been... -

I think the locking rear diff is also a lower gear ratio......it can def be helpful in the more extreme rock crawling situations......but none of the locking diffs really ever truly lock.....they do engage to reduce wheel spin but not completely.....usually only the extreme off road only after... -

vibrating steering wheel
Ill put my money on brake rotors.......why they are warping is hard to say, but most likely that is the problem......if less than 12,000 miles can probably get landrover to replace the rotors and pads...... oops I didn't see the clarification post........in that case BSOM !!!! :-) -

Drivers wiper broken
the vin numbers that apply are listed in the bulletin....... and it is a 13 mm socket, not 14mm as i stated earlier....... my lr4 has not had that update performed either, my dealer just confirmed it.....but i checked my wipers and they were torqued to 13ft-lbs.....most likely yours were... -

there is a prior to sale bulletin for the dealer to torque these to 13lb-ft......i believe it is a 14mm metric socket......i would bet this is your problem -

2011 LR4 HSE wind Petersen's 4x4 of the year
the nav update bulletin shows a 2009 to 2010 version update....my recently delivered lr4 has only the 2009 version .......it appears my dealer neglected to do this prior to sale
