    Automatic Windows LR3

The front driver and psngr are auto up/down. They can be programeed with just the switch itself. There is not second detent or anything. Push switch down and let go all the way down. Hold for a sec and release. Pull switch up and keep holding till all the way up and hold for a bit. Release...

    Resetting Brake Pad Light?????

I don't believe it has "two rear ones. . ." There is one for the front and one for the rear.

    fuel gauge stuck

This can be caused by filling up the truck with fuel and then not driving it. It then just stays stuck on full. Yes, it is a DIY fix. You simply need to drive the truck with the engine running. HA!

    Oil light On

First time I have heard of just the oil light on since LR3 introduced. Have you recently had any water ingress problems? Any damp musty smell in the carpet footwell areas? Any big rains? I wouldn't be comfortable driving it with a red oil alert regardless. I would check under the hood for...

New HVAC problem - erratic behavior

My erratic HVAC front fan problem has been resolved. It was the blower motor and the relay under the hood. $5 for the relay and $119 for a new blower motor from LR. All good now. Very easy job to fix.

HDC + Parking Brake + No Speedometer

Is the truck actually in all those modes? In other words, is it stuck in access height? Does the parking brake still actually work? With all those combined "displayed" faults, perhaps your instrument cluster is bad. . .

    Battery Issues

To check your electrolyte level, there are screw in caps in the OEM lead calcium battery. They can be unscrewed by using a coin. Don't try to use a screwdriver unless you have a titantic sized one. Wear safety glasses, don't smoke, and don't get the liquid on anything.

    Uh oh....MOUSE!

Hum. . . I'll admit I don't know much at all about rodent behavior. . .but does it make sense to put things that strongly attract rodents in your LR3? I understand that you may have one already inside, but I was just thinking putting them right near the truck instead of in it may attrack it...

    Erratic Climate Control - Solved

Well, my HVAC climate control has been acting strangely lately. The front heat/AC would not operate correctly, while the rear did just fine. The front fan would not turn on unless I played with the settings multiple times. Then all of a sudden, it would kick on like normal. When I would turn...

    Battery Issues

Technically, you can check the effectiveness of your battery and add distilled water if some of the cells are low. This can happen in severe use scenairos such as you battery constantly discharging to a significant degree and recharging. "Azgirl5" . . . you don't happen to be also known as...

LR3 Radio and Nav. temperature issue

Hey whydahdvr, what you describe sounds like a weak battery. I have had my LR3 in sub zero, winter snowstorms, etc., and I have never noticed it needing to "crank harder" than usual. In very cold weather, batterys can loose 40%-50% of their cranking power. If your batt is "weak" you really...

    K&N Air Filter

You want to hear what sold me initially? Actually it is not the HP gains at all, that is not even a consideration. As funny as it sounds, what sold me was my Shop Vac. I got a new Shop Vac and was using it for the first time. I had the original cheapo dry filter on it. (paper) Well, I...

    New to Land Rover

IIRC, there was some talk a few years ago that the AUX wiring was messed up on a few vehicles. Something zero sound from AUX. They swapped wires and magically, sound. As you can tell it is foggy to me, but there was some discussion on this. The pod that the aux input is easy to take out and...

    K&N Air Filter

That is some interesting data. And I would agree, if you are going to use your LR3 as a dedicated off road vehicle, or if you use it in the dessert, etc., where max dirt filtration is key, I would not use a K&N. Also, you left out the key summary finding. The K&N does indeed flow more air in...

    K&N Air Filter

Ok, so I spoke to soon. This will be the last one. I post this because it is very interesting, factual, and done by an independent lab. . . What is also interesting, which I never knew, was that the MAF sensors that are contaiminated have been contaminated with silicone; yet, the K&N oil...

    K&N Air Filter

Ok, last one I promise. . . Check out the testing and facts below. To me, this is a company I like. Willing to go to bat for the consumer against BS. I don't work for K&N nor have any interest in them what so ever; other than, it kind of is a bummer that some post "feelings" rather than...

    K&N Air Filter

Ironically, in trying to find some stats on K&N problems. . .I came across these items which discuss the ah um, myths or facts depending on your religion that we were disucssing here. . . Common Misdiagnosis in Warranty Repair There are many reasons why a dealership or repair facility may...

    K&N Air Filter

So I agree with you Team Jeff, if you don't follow directions and saturate the filter in oil, sure, yes, bad things can happen. You know, same thing if I don't follow direcitons and use corn oil rather than motor oil. . . Or if I put RV anitfreeze in instead of LR anitfreeze;-) The simple...

    Gas Cap - Engine Fault

When you say "air flow sensors are melted. . ." are you referring to the MAF? If not what? You don't have a K&N filter do you?-)

    Roof glass.....damn.

On an extended camping/backpacking trip my roof glass cracked/shattered. It held together for thousands of miles with zero issue until the trip ended. It was $1,200 to replace. Ouch.

Rear Seat - Heat and AC

It gets heat/cold from the main system; however, it is sent back to an additional fan in the back. There is no A/C compressor nor heater core in the back. It is taken from the front components.

    K&N Air Filter

Ha, this is like asking about religion. . . Millions have used K&N with nothing but great things to say about them. Others will fear monger and come up with um, shall we say unbelievable horror stories. The fact is that the K&N is a great product. If it did cause spontaneous engine failures...

Sounds logical. You don't happen to know where I would find the interior temperature sensor do you?

New HVAC problem - erratic behavior

Interestingly, my 2005 LR3 HSE has just started an intermittant problem regarding the HVAC climate control system. With it set on auto, it has now just started to act strange. It basically sometimes comes on and sometimes doesn't. It is as if it is stuck and just doesn't seem to be on when it...

    Traxide Dual Battery Trouble Shooting

My Traxide setup has been great, no problems. I do notice one reoccuring item however. I mostly drive just short distances on a regular basis. Many times I have checked under the hood/battery cover to find the Traxide blinking red, which means that the voltage was low enough in the main...
