I know that most of our trips are impromptu, but we do plan on hitting the Main Line Overland rally in Penn, and Expo East in Asheville, NC.
When I trained with Bill, we did the MAR challenge course down by Pembroke. I did some damage to the truck  but needing sliders were never the...
Thanks everybody. We do have some good areas to play in around here, we just have to remember them. And, I do have a good group to wheel with.
Dan, ran the VOT trails bone stock with only one issue (mud) and was stunned. I do recommend new shoes for the truck, but the biggest problem with...
GT Wrangler AT Adv Update: Avoid if you do any moderate wheeling. I have lost 2 now due to sidewall punctures, and only one could I possibly see occurring. The OEMs withstood greater punishment. Your choices are either the 18" + spacers or Cooper Zeons, IMHO. Goodyear has been kind enough to...

I hate it and this is just some lame lazy combo of the Sport and Ford Explorer. If this is the way they want to go, that's fine and wish them luck but I will not be going LR for my 4x4 needs. I love my LR4, btw
So, went through some Bill Burke training this weekend in SW Virginia and overall, I have to say that the Wrangler Adventures were not great. They were definitely a step up from the Contis. I have not tried the Cooper Zeons, so can not comment on how they would perform in that muddy and rocky...
I was really impressed with the GY Adventures when we had the snow here in DC a couple of days ago. Massive improvement in acceleration, stoping and traction! Can't wait to hit some trails in a couple of weeks.
I went through the same thing. I wonder if they are either told it's for towing, or just an excuse to tell people because there are not many with HD? I bought mine used from a Toyota dealership in Denver, and they either just wanted it off the lot, or didn't know what they had. It was about...
I have just put the Wrangler Adventures on my truck and they are very smooth. Now, hitting some objects has informed me that they are stiffer than the Contis...which is good in my mind. My wife stole the truck from me during a recent snow/sleet dump and she noticed a positive difference in...
Technically speaking, this was off road  but will be getting out soon and will post up my impressions and pix. GY Wrangler A/T Adventures 255/60/19, if you're wondering and very smooth ride.
I have found that "distance to empty" means I have 4 more gallons. The "distance" it is measuring is to the grey on my truck. I then put 19.? gallons in an off I go.
Just took the truck out again, plowed through a lot and helped a couple of people get out. The snow this morning in the DC area was somewhat powdery, but by late morning it had really turned wet, clumpy and slick. Got stuck a couple of times plowing through the piles. Got high centered plowing...
