    Another Reduced Engine Performance Thread

Thanks, that's really helpful. This way I'll go blindly into the dealership and won't be able to call bullshit when they tell me it'll be $1200, thank you very much.

    Another Reduced Engine Performance Thread

'06 LR3, 88k miles, new battery 18 months ago Gents - I've been getting this error lately, and it's coming up more frequently in the last couple of weeks. It happened a few times this winter when it was sub 30 degrees outside. The times it happened, I noticed it was almost exactly 15 minutes...

    Fuses

One thing I did not realize is that there are addl fuses behind the glove box. I found this out while changing the cabin filter. No, I never read the manual. I have an 06.

Good thing my last vehicle was an Audi allroad

Paul - Check your PM. No arguments at all about LR Hanover, they're excellent, skilled and very professional. They've gone out of their way a few times for me already. I'm told the Overlander mechanics are master LR techs. Maybe the new shop manager, who might not be an expert, was the one who...

Good thing my last vehicle was an Audi allroad

Not today. Today I used Overlander, in Southie. I had LR Hanover quote me on the same work and got a good price at Overlander. It's no frills, and if you can look past that and happen to be in Boston for the day, it's worth a little inconvenience.

    Clunk Noise

Lower control arms? When the bushings on the arms wear out, the control arms hit against the frame/support members.

Good thing my last vehicle was an Audi allroad

My landy is getting the control arms done today. I did the rear sway bar bushings last fall, and I can't wait to see how it drives with a mostly updated suspension. Today's investment will be pricey.

    LCA Brand? OEM?

I don't know either of them but am also in the same boat and haven't pulled the trigger yet. Roverpartswest have the cheapest control arms I have been able to find.

Compressor question - very noisy after dealer repair visit

I had my 06 LR3 at a dealer this week to replace the rear sway bushings and a broken brake sensor. They told me the compressor was loose so I had them tighten it up. Before the service, I could tell when the compressor was lifting or topping off the suspension, but it was nothing much more...

Sounds good, I'll let you know how I make out

Fuel cap error -- anyone else had this before?

I've had it pop up and ultimately took it as a sign to replace the battery because I didn't know if it had ever been done before. This was about a year ago at around 70k miles. FYI it has come up a few times since then and I've just learned to live with it. I have read here that the fuel...

    Advice needed: 06 LR3, 80k miles - extended warranty?

Paul - I just ordered the windshield cowl. I think I remember reading here that someone did the replacement without any special tools. If you learn anything from your windshield guy, can you post back here?

Do you have a visual of where the sensor is?

    Advice needed: 06 LR3, 80k miles - extended warranty?

My LR3 has 80k miles and there are some items I think I'll have to address soon, and wonder if it's better to get an extended warranty to cover me for the unknowns. Right now, I think I'm going to have to address a 'whisper' that's starting in the exhaust, somewhere towards the middle of the...

    Check brake pad error

I have been getting this error on my dash - mostly when I make a hard left or right. The pads are fine as I've had the wheels off a couple of times and there's plenty left, so I think it's a loose connection. It started infrequently at first, mostly when going over washboard access roads and...

    Fitting Oversized Spare Tire Underneath

Gents - I am curious - in removing the heat shields from around the exhaust - I've always wondered - is their function really all that important, other than protecting the spare from melting? I didn't get the comment about having an air conditioned trunk area. Does removing it cause the cargo...

    Radio quit working

Same exact thing happened to me today, along with the transmission light coming on. The cd worked, the audio for the phone worked, but the audio for am and fm didn't work. The gremlin went away on its own - working radio again and the tranny light is gone. BTW, I replaced the battery 10 months...

Control arm bushings and ball joints

Reviving this thread -- When I had the EPB actuator replaced, the tech warned me the front lower control arms and rear sway bar bushings were on their way out. After 3 months and about 2 of those having done regular beach driving, I've been waiting for the 'shoe to drop' and for any of the above...

    Post body-shop issues

Hey Jayson - Yes, this did get resolved. The upshot of it all was that I insisted they bring it to a rover dealer to sort it out, and they agreed to that. I was told it was due to a blown fuse, but I got busy and didn't verify that directly with the dealer. They also cleared the error messages I...

    Off-Roading in MA (with Axel)

If you want full masshole membership with privileges, you need to run an old lady out of the crosswalk, double park in Southie while you get your coffee and go 70 down the breakdown lane. With a full membership red lights become optional and you don't get any guilt flipping off families in...

    Post body-shop issues

I had recently tested the hi/lo and I didn't hear it at the time. After some pressing I succeeded in getting them to agree to have the issues sorted by the LR dealer. I feel somewhat vindicated and have fingers crossed. PauLR3 - good advice - I got it all in writing.
