Park brake & fuel cap errors

While I would have preferred to not have had the glitch to deal with, I agree - I'd rather be able to fix it myself (with everyone's sage advice from this board) versus bringing it into the dealership. Now that that's behind me, my radio decided to not put any audio out and I got a 'CD Error'...

Park brake & fuel cap errors

Update: It was the brake switch. After installation, all errors cleared themselves without the hard reset. Interesting side note: Probably common sense but worth mentioning. The night before I picked up the part I decided to pull the fuses associated with the errors on the dash (conveniently...

Transmission fault, HDC, lowered suspension height -- resolved

Also, the first post mentions 'disconnecting the ground' to clear the fault codes. Where is the ground located? Are there specific steps to follow in the overall process? Thanks!

Transmission fault, HDC, lowered suspension height -- resolved

Just had the same errors come up on my 06LR3. Put in a new battery, but they're still coming up and the suspension is lowering. Does anyone have the part number or a link where the part can be purchased? FYI this all started when the cold weather came - below 40 degrees. Coincidence? Not sure...

Park brake & fuel cap errors

New faults: I started getting the HDC error, transmission error and cruise control not permitted error (although I hadn't engaged it), so I decided it's time for a new battery. I installed a new Interstate the other day and all of these faults continue to show up (not always). When the HDC error...

    Hitch Receiver Parts?

To add to these questions: Does anyone know the part number of the 'plug' that goes in place of the receiver hitch when the hitch is removed? I've seen it on newer LRs but don't have one on mine. I think it's either red or orange.

Park brake & fuel cap errors

Another update: According to my indy repair shop, the faults are related to a low battery charge and 'lost communication with modules', stressing the fact that everyone seems to already know - a weak battery can cause faults to be thrown. It turns out that neither of the two faults are real...

Park brake & fuel cap errors

Update: Getting in the car after work, the park brake warning didn't come back up and the fuel cap loose or missing error is still there. It just seems like a quirk.

Park brake & fuel cap errors

I've read other threads about the woes of the parking brake error and the various issues or non-issues causing it. This morning I parked without applying the parking brake, and the fuel cap loose or missing error came up on my info display. This came up a few weeks ago and went away within a...

    Passenger side sliding cupholder

Excellent video. I got the component out and identified the problem. There is a dislodged small plastic drum, which I assume goes inside a similarly sized metal coil. I couldn't figure out a way to take the part apart any more, so I'm wondering - do I just order a new part or can this be fixed?

...and mine won't open unless I remove the rubber protector above it and pull it out. I'm sure in either case it's a broken clasp or something but would love to read the responses.

    Tire Size Advice Please

I also have an 06 LR3 in need of new tires. I've honed in on the Terra Grapplers as well and will be curious to read what others say about your question about going with the larger tires.

    Online resource - exploded diagram?

Can anyone point me to an online resource where I can see part names/identifiers on the LR3 in an exploded diagram type of format? I'm trying to identify the name of the 'plastic thing under the front bumper' that is broken which I want to replace! I also haven't been able to identify it on...

    Gas grade - 87, 89, higher?

Update since my original post: Tracking the mileage performance on 87 vs 91, I notice maybe a half mile per gallon improvement, but no other noticeable differences. What you all say makes sense about higher octane/performance, but I'm still somewhat sceptical. Also, the mileage per gallon...

    Gas grade - 87, 89, higher?

The dealer I bought my rover from recommended 89 or above for the gas quality. I've filled it a couple of times with 87, and a couple of times with 89. I don't notice any difference in performance whatsoever when I use a higher grade and don't hear any knocking or pinging. What grade do you...

Tire pressure monitoring & new tire install

I'm in the process of researching new tires for my 06 LR3. I'm wondering if the tire pressure monitoring devices need to be replaced when new tires are installed. FYI when checking the tire pressure, I noticed corrosion (white, not rust colored) on the threads of the tire valve stems, so I'm...

    Land Rover LR3 HSE Tires

I've done some research on the terra grapplers. Some say the off-road capability is middle of the road, others say they wear really quickly. What would you say to either of those comments? What type of off-roading do you do? Also, what outlet would you recommend for buying them at the cheapest...

    Land Rover LR3 HSE Tires

Thread jack, but not entirely - I'm about to take delivery also on an 06 LR3. The most off-road it's going to see is driving onto a beach, which can have deep and soft sand, mixed in with typically rocky and gritty New England 'sand'. What rubber recommendations can you give knowing this? Aside...

    New member - LR3/New England

Greetings all - While I haven't gotten my 'new' LR yet, I'm expecting to pick her up some time this week. I have bought an 06/Buckingham Blue model with low miles - trading up from a Jeep Wrangler (Matilda) and can't wait to experience the legendary, or is it infamous, British...
