After installing long rails on my last LR4 and installing the short rails on the one I recently purchased...you could simply remove the long rails, cut them about 2 inches in front of the screw that is located above the front door (the one before the dip in the roofline) and cap it off. LR4 Parking brake manual release
This manual release helps after going through a lot of mud and treading thick clay ruts. I've experienced the parking brake getting stuck (as well as it not being able to engage) and then it causes all sorts of terrain response issues and throws warnings.- iSurfvilano

the LR4 19inch tire dilemma
I never go over 80 anyway, but that's personal preference, I like to cruise. All my fun driving which uses the tires capabilities is under 5mph.- iSurfvilano

Short Rails - Install - Fit/Rattling?
So I put in a set of OEM short rails on my truck and even though I tightened them pretty good, they seem loose and rattle when driving. This tells me I should tighten them up, but before I do I wanted to see if anyone else ran into this, I have them pretty damn tight, going to have to bust out...- iSurfvilano

@Spyder13 I agree with @PaulLR3 here. I traded in my '16 LR4 HSE two weeks ago...I purchased it a year ago brand new for $54k, I traded it in to the same dealership with 22,000 miles and fresh full of mud for $52,500. They just sold it for $57k...- iSurfvilano
