Umberto, your scenarios is exactl why I don't want to hit the HDC button at 45 MPH, even though the manual says it's possible. Is it going to slow me from 45 to 2 MPH even if you're not on a hill? -

See, now this comment totally confuses me. I thought HDC only works on hills and that you can keep it on while driving under 50 MPH and it won't hinder you unless going down a hill? It says in the manual that you can engage it at speeds up to 50 MPH. The manual mentions numerous times... -

No, but the point of the question is: it seems like you wouldn't be able to drive even 30 miles in this thing using low gear. At slow speeds in regular drive while accelerating (and not fast, just going with flow from a light) I get like 4 MPG. If it's worse in Low, can you even go anywhere... -
