The compass does not work in either off road or on road mode. And, I did have a good GPS signal, as I was outside and the compass was available in the other screens.
Thanks
What I thought odd (and even a little uncool) is that the "tow package" doesn't come with a wiring harness! What is up with that?
The LR3 is advertized to be a hauler. They should set it up wired from the factory with a plug for the controller.
On the HSE you can get from $1000 to $2000 off of list. Probably closer to $1000. (That is what i got, but I called around and some dealers said they would do 1500, but they didn't have the vehicle I wanted).
"To flat tow you will need to disconnect the drive shafts. "
Yes, that is the only solution. Do you know how hard that is? I am talking with Remco about fitting one of their systems to the LR3.
Does anyone know what size Yoke we have on our drive shafts? I am looking into a custom remco disconnect system, so that I can flat tow the LR3.
Thanks.
I got mine loaded with everything. Not that I wanted it that way, but that is what they had in Red.
I needed the third seat, heavy duty, and tow package. Mine came with the cooler and adaptive lighting. Also, rear climate control.
Adaptive lighting seems unnecessary with the Xenon...
Those are the ones! You are right, it doesn't look like those....
For me, it was black or red. I have had a couple of black cars now, and I thought it was time for a chance. And, I like how the red contrasts with the plastic bumpers and fenders.
When I went searching for vehicles, it was important to find one that had third row seating (another baby on the way) and that it be able to be towed 4 wheels down behind a motorhome. I currently have a Kia Sportage that I really only use for Motorhome trips, as it is cheap, light, and towable...
Regarding the disabling of functions, to be honest, I have found it to not be that limiting. You can still do quite a bit like put in a saved destination.
I have the 19" wheels on my HSE. Personally, I wish they were smaller. I don't like the bling bling look on an off road truck. I might find another set for offroad trips.
Please say that you aren't going with spinners...
"I had planned on ordering without this. Can you give some more details on why the adaptive lighting is worth ordering?"
The Xenon headlights are a must. They put out so much light that it is hard to see how the adaptive front lights can make a difference.
Mine came with the lights, and...
What about the Land Rover steel tube brush guard and winch? The only thing I don't like about the A frame guard is that it covers up the "Land Rover" emblem on the hood.
I considered also not getting the Nav system, but after a three minute demo, I found it to be a must have.
The off road information screen is way cool.
