Steering wheel shaking after rotor/pads replacement

I was thinking warped rotors as well, or a sticking caliper.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO!? BUYING MY FIRST LR4...

Welcome Alan! If you never owned a V8 then you would be fine with the SCV6 as well. If going V8, go with a 2013. If not rock climbing, then you don't need the heavy duty package with the rear locker on a V8. (2013 & older) But if buying a V6 (2014 & newer) then you should find one with a...

    Roof Box Question - LR4

I'm all for working on my LR4, but I would leave the installation of the base roof rails to the dealer. Far too many posts over the years of people trying to save money and cracking the glass roof. Make sure you get OEM roof rails and not the made-in-China imitation rails on ebay & Amazon...

Morimoto XB Led Fog Light Install

I have swapped my white fog lights for PIAA yellow bulbs which work better in blinding snow. Nice that you can even run fog lights without the headlights on our vehicles. Here is one step I would add...after you pull off the trim ring and before you remove the 3 screws, put some tape over the...

    Brake pads and calipers

Pretty sure the V6 and V8 LR4 brake pads & rotors are identical. (Bigger than the LR3 rotors) I recently got new OEM pads & rotors and while installing the winter tires I noticed "Brembo" stamped in the rotors. That explains why the OEM rotors perform so well and seldom warp.

    Honda Passport

Same experience with Honda Accords in the 80's & 90's when I was a sales rep and drove 50K+ miles a year. Oil changes, 4 sets of tires, 2 sets of brake pads, 1 timing belt, 1 clutch over 200K miles and that was it. Then I switched to A4's and loved how they drove despite constant issues and...

    Honda Passport

I totally agree...our 2004 MDX was terrible in snow. The rear wheels would randomly engage if they detected slippage then disengage if they detected traction. When they would suddenly disengage it could send you spinning. I think the Acura full time SH-AWD system has trickled down to the...

    Honda Passport

Here are all the details. Seems really nice compared to the more expensive Discovery Sport. http://hondanews.com/honda-automobiles/releases/2019-honda-passport-makes-world-debut-adventure-ready-all-new-5-passenger-suv-on-display-at-2018-los-angeles-auto-show I'm sure the Honda V6 drives so...

    Honda Passport

While we continue to wait for LR to show us the new Defender, Honda is bringing back the Passport. This time it's a Honda product and not a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo.

LR3/4 lovers, fret not. Replacement maybe on the way.

    ^My thoughts exactly^

oil change frequency poll under normal driving conditions

Neighbor just spent $2K to replace a bank of fuel injectors in their LR4 with 70K miles. I asked her if she uses top tier gas like Mobil or Shell and she replied that she just puts any gas in it, not even premium. I know the the cost of top tier gas isn't the issue, it's just not important to her.

    Tires rotation pattern

I just go front to back on each side when I do seasonal changeovers. For some reason I always got tire vibration if I switched tires from one side to the other.

LR3/4 lovers, fret not. Replacement maybe on the way.

I wonder which will happen first...LR launch the next Defender or this guy engineer a totally new vehicle, build a new manufacturing plant and market the Grenadier. We should probably put together a group buy now as our LR4's will have 200K miles before either happens.

    Another Defender hint?

Can't wait to see what the next LR loaner vehicle will look like. Maybe it doesn't have the same lethargic engine and miserable rear visibility.

Your thoughts on these LR4 rims/wheels?

When we ordered the red 2013 I had no idea the timing chain tensioners were different. But when I went to buy another new LR4 in 2015 for myself, I knew I didn't like the SCV6, running boards and rotary shift. So I searched for the lowest mileage 2013 I could find and it was 1000 miles away in...

Your thoughts on these LR4 rims/wheels?

My wife wanted a red HSE LUX so we had to order it and wait 3 months for it to arrive. I checked dealer inventory in a 500 mile radius at the time and there were zero red LR4s. My Causeway Gray is just as rare, probably because it was an $1800 color option.

No idea who makes them for LR.

    Squealing brakes...

I have no idea what the tested stopping distance is for OEM brakes. I'm not taking the LR4 to the track. From 200K+ miles of driving I can say that they have never faded or overheated or disappointed me in any way. I feel the LR4 stops very quickly given the weight. I've had a couple of...
