    LR3 Sun Shade

I had this problem too when I first got my LR3. But, figured out that I just needed to close the latch all the way. When you first close the shade, the latch catches, making you think that it actually is locked. But, if you try to push the latch further, it'll actually stay locked. Try it...

    Heated Steering Wheel

As it gets pretty cold here in New England, it would definitely be nice to have heated steering wheels. Hopefully, someone smart enough with and electrical engineering background would be able to figure how to retrofit the 2009 heated steering wheel on an older LR3. V

    Heated Steering Wheel

Ok, looking through the 2009 LR3 specs, it appears that you can get an optional heated steering wheel. I always wanted to get one for my 2008. I saw an OEM heated steering wheel on eBay that the seller admits to being wired for the heated function. But, he says that it doesn't...

    Looking at buying a 2008 LR3, a few questions. . .

Hi, I like the black interior. It actually looks fine. Not too hot at all or formal if that's what you mean. If you have pets or kids, you can imagine that light colored leather seats will show the tiniest scuff marks, dirt, etc. Sure, during the cold season when salts are on the roads...

    Looking at buying a 2008 LR3, a few questions. . .

I have a 2008 LR3 HSE (Alaska white with black interior). The only changes for 2009 are the exterior trim that matches the car color and the wheels. I haven't had any issues with mine. No recent recalls per my dealer. I don't know what 2008's go for now. But, when I bought mine last year I...

any detailed instructions for changing oil & filter

I did my oil change once and at that time, I had to put my LR3 up on ramps for the front. It's too dangerous to just put one side on jacks, plus it would be hard to remove all lug nuts that hold the skid plates from underneath. I also found out that I needed something that would hold the skid...

    Heated Steering Wheel

Just out of curiousity, I noted that the 2009 RRS can be had with a heated steering wheel for a mere 100 bucks (based from the build option on their site. And I notice that the steering wheel is exactly the same one that is on the LR3. Would it be possible to replace the LR3's steering wheel...

    15K mile maintenance question...

Yikes, I guess I wasn't alone. It's such a hassle removing the underside guards too. Good thing we had a pneumatic ratchet (sp?).

    15K mile maintenance question...

Thanks for the advice. Actually, last oil change at the LR dealer (which was a little over 3 months ago), they had put a defective filter that leaked! I took it to the local NAPA store and my friend who happens to work there replaced it with a NAPA filter. I will make sure to tell the LR guys...

    15K mile maintenance question...

Thanks guys, I think I will go ahead and take it in for my 15K scheduled maintenance. I certainly don't want to jeopardize my warranty. V.

    15K mile maintenance question...

Hello all, I have a 2008 LR3 HSE and will be reaching my 15K mark. My LandRover dealership is 120 miles away and it seems that it's really not worth driving there just for routine oil changes. Based on my going over the LandRover passport to service booklet, there are routine...

    Side mirror puddle lamps

    Side mirror puddle lamps

Sounds pretty cool. How'd you hook up the electrical and what activates it?

    Side mirror puddle lamps

While washing my LR3 today, I noticed that there's an outline on the underside of both side mirrors for puddle lamps. Has anyone thought of putting on RRS mirrors with puddle lamps for their LR3? If so, are harnesses for the lamps already built in? Just curious. Vince.

Trailer hitch receiver stowage and attachment...

My 2008 LR3 HSE came with the red plastic insert. It was easily removed since there's only a tab that holds it in place. I would imagine that because of this, that many owners lose theirs because they drop out of place accidentally. Just a thought. I too, did not find any straps that would...

You can always have an upholstery person redo the bottom seat cushions. And, you can probably select a firmer pad. Vince.

How high can we safely run the tire pressure?

When I first took home my LR3, all tires were inflated at 50 psi. I immediately deflated them down to the factory recommended pressures. The result was a better cushy ride. Vince.

At what gas price will you sell your LR3?

I love my LR3 too much. That's why I have a Prius hybrid to ride around in for all the other non-off road chores. I now only use my LR3 during the Summer and weekends. Vince. 2008 LR3 HSE 2006 Toyota Prius Touring Edition 2001 Suburban 1983 Mercedes Benz 380SL

    How do I remove this?

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll try and fiddle with it when it gets warmer. The weather here in the north country is wicked cold. Living on a lake doesn't help either. Brrrrrrr! Vince.

    How do I remove this?

Can anyone tell me how to remove this? It's the mat retention tabs for both driver and passenger. I don't want to just pull on it, fearing that I might break it. I ordered a weathertech mat for my LR3 and from what the website picture shows, there is no hole for this part to go into...

    Sunroof

Try this: Turn key to positon II. Then, hold the sunroof close button for 20 secs. This is supposed to reset/recalibrate the sunroof. If the sunroof starts to close, keep the button pressed for a complete close/open cycle. Goodluck.

    Lease or buy an LR3?

If you plan to switch cars every couple of years and if you already own another vehicle free and clear (which you might need to use so that you don't pile up miles on your lease vehicle), then leasing would be for you. But, if you're like me and want to keep your vehicles for as long as they...

    Side assist steps

Here are pics of side steps for my 2008 LR3 HSE. I had my dealer install it. It wasn't cheap, but it's covered under my basic warranty. I also included a pic of a small gouge on my passenger door panel. The seat belt didn't retract fast enough and when the door closed, BAM! Good news...
