    oil pressure problem?

Robairx, did you reuse your old oil pump ass'y on the new motor? (I had to ask) The only instances I'm aware of oil pressure loss @ higher rpm are foaming (not likely with such a deep pan) or pickup tube sucking air (sealed @ connection?) Do you have the RAVE cd? - I think it has oil pump...

Geez mike, I hope your kidding as that seems very out of character for you. I'll not participate in a pissing contest with someone who vents like that unprovoked. If you need my creds, PM me. luck, greg

    No dash lights, tail lights

I've had my D1 switch out several times over the years If your's is a D1, pull the (3) phillips out from the bottom of the column cover. I use a small screwdriver to remove both electrical connectors Then as your sitting in the seat looking @ it, there's (2) tabs on the switch ass'y...

    98 Disco Fuel Issue

i'm too lazy right now to look it up, but would a faulty throttle position sensor (tps) cause the mixture to lean as the butterfly opens? I've always been tempted to take mine apart & clean it, but I'm too scared Deeb, if you get more detailed in symptoms it might help us with tips to...

Wth are a/c drains on 98 Disco I??

Those crosscut nipples keep water from backing up into cabin during river crossings You guys might check your pre-filter if your're getting debris in those lines. that means crap is getting sucked into blower compartment. The prefilter is suppose to be under the hood in front of the...

    98 Disco Fuel Issue

By the time I write this Deeb probably already unscrewed the clamp on the throttlebody flex. Since it's now open he could operate the linkage to see if the throttle plate opens. (He did say he tried the linkage but was he looking @ the plate?) the only thing behind the plate are the...

    oil pressure problem?

Beware aboiut aggressive engine flush w/atf You might open a can of worms as I did. If you're mechanical, I'd agree w/joey, if not, My best luck, (after cleaning out my pan) was with a product called CDR $3/can @ parts store- no more lifter noise after 50-100 miles and you drive with it...

    Rear differential noises

When you say "runs fine) do you mean the truck drives? How do you know it's the diff & not a broken axle? (more likely) If it's an entire diff ass'y, I'd budget $300-$500 assuming brakes, gaskets oil maybe some bushings, etc. If it's an axle, maybe $100 Oh, & that's if you do it...

    auxillary fan timer.

If your talking about the condensor fans in front of the radiator, on my '97 they're controlled by the ECU grounding the fan relay for about ten minutes after shutdown. (if engine temp or condensor temp is high) So the short answer is it's in the ECU I believe luck, greg

    another interesting problem

Joey, I agree that I'm long winded - but what happens is randomly, when I hit the post button, it comes back & says I'm not signed in. doesn't seem to be defined by length. Admin told me some time ago He'd fixed it & it was good for a while luck, greg

    Anti lock brake

At each wheel, you'll (your mech) see a sensor cable disappearing into the brake ass'y. the small hub fitting where it enters can be tapped on (hit small open end wrench w/hammer) to drive the sensor into it's wheel (that resets clearance). This method is in the land rover service manual...

    truck locks up while driving

I'm sorry to say, but my money's on the transfer case diff ass'y. the sorry part is how do you check w/o pulling it? I agree w/toecutter tho' problems with the parking brake could cause rear wheels to lock (easier to check) luck, greg

    another interesting problem

dammit-- you're making me think ---- I remember several years ago reading about corrosion under the main fusebox (under the hood) As I recall sometimes the connections are burned underneath. Widepud , you may want to search"discovery fusebox corrosion" Alot of my connections were...

    another interesting problem

I've been watching the progress of this & wonder: When you checked fuel pressure were you driving, you say it died while you drive or just sitting @ idle? (should be above 37lbs. always. I'd try driving it with the gas cap loose, to me your symptoms sound fuel related since you stated if...

Oil leak out of spidle 95

Is oil leaking out of hub or from ball swivel The end of the axle housing has seal to contain the diff oil, the ball swivel has a 6" dia. seal to contain swivel lube. Either way, it's repairable, I repaired my ball swivel w/o removing the whole mess. luck, greg

    Electrical Issues?!?!

It's my understanding that cleaning the Bosch mass air flows on the DII's is a crap shoot.(not nearly as sucessful as the lucas DI) My '97 has a lucas & I've cleaned it & my '96 RR several times in the last four years. Also if you use ANY oiled long life air cleaner, you'd better maintain it...
