The original ones had problems with leaking, and blowing off when going down the road because the plastics break. You will have to remove them to put on the cowl, if they are not broken yet, they could well be when you are done.
The last new one I bought, was much more rugged feeling, and...
Here's a "how to" article I wrote a while back with pictures. Be careful when you "tap" anything with a hammer or anything else, or you could break something. If you have never changed the left and right pillar covers, you should replace them as well.
The issue of concern with the cowl, is the...
I'd opt to swap the Alternator. It seems logical, seeing as it was recently changed. Is it a Denso?
I did some searching around, and found (and have heard before) "When I changed my alternator it was purchased from ECP and overcharged and brought up EPB warning light. Returned alternator to...
That sounds like good advice. The next question on my mind would be, is the transmission slipping and causing this, or is it the engine. I did some research for you and posted the results below.
Can you get a sense on that. It's possible if the torque converter is going on (they do, and...
I think bbyer got a bad refurbished alternator at some point. 350 miles away, Austin LR Dealer by chance? Check your negative battery cable for corrosion at the terminal, and at the body bolt, just to the left of the battery.
Clean it, make sure it is getting good contact. The voltage...
Differentials, CV Joints, Drive Shaft? If you can get it on a lift, you can check for play. When you say surge, is it a noise, or a surge in engine RPMs, etc.
Here is some updated information, and as a reminder there is a difference between Initial oil fill, and an oil change. I use Royal Purple, I have pasted in the Oil I use at the end of this. This oil is available from Pep Boys, however, the last check they did not have the V8 Engine Oil filter so...
That is also a symptom of worn bushings, worn out dampers may also contribute to the problem.
Anti Roll Bar Bushes
Front Upper / Lower (real common) front bushings (change the entire suspension arm)
Rear bushings also wear out, easier to change out the entire arm.
I wonder if you have the maintenance records....
Surge.... LR3 has some weird shifting patterns if you are not used to it. NOISE-- Could be drive shaft u-joints, tranny, transfer case, diffs, CV Joints, etc. any number of issues, perhaps even the suspension bushings...
I can't disagree with Mike, as he should know, and I have not tried them.
My experience with EBC rotors and pads have been great though. First off, if you are going to fit Green Stuff pads, then fit their rotors. The issue I had with OE rotors is that they where whipped in the first 20k miles...
I've only seen this once, and it happened twice in two days. The battery is bad. I replaced it, and no more problems.
I don't care what the battery test guy said, he said the same thing to me. And I told him, i've had this since 2005 and i've put 5 batteries in it, I know when the battery is...
You could check with your dealer on the carper or perhaps give these folks a call http://www.roverlandparts.com/
I would suggest applying a thin coat of hot sauce on other target chew areas, that should do the trick. SriRacha hot chili sauce. http://www.huyfong.com/no_frames/sriracha.htm
I'm very happy with mine so far, having run them for a year. You can always give Justin a call at Lucky8llc.com he's real reasonable and fair, and if he can give you a better price I'm sure he will.
I'm in Austin, also have a good independent here. I might be convinced to make that trip, it's a haul. PM me if you don't find another option. You might also consider posting your request on the http://www.texasrovers.com/ web site, as they have members there.
I have been happy with EBC drilled / slotted rotors. I got 20k out of my OEM's and I got 80k out of the first set of EBC. They could have gone a little longer but I wanted to get it all out of the way. I turned the rotors lightly at each brake pad fitting. The pads I've used are the EBC Green Stuff.
I looked up that particular antenna. It says grounding not required.
--- oh ya, this is lrw, so disco3. co. uk/
Here are pictures of the setup, without the roof rack installed.

I ordered the grounding strap online. I haven't...
Control Arm bushings, dampers, sway bar bushings. The nicest upgrade I did was fitting Koni FSD dampers on, it improved the ride, inasmuch as it is softer on harsh terrain. Overall it is a better ride. I would say that at 100k, my dampers were probably pretty well shot. I ordered the Koni and...
If you are willing to come to Austin, I highly suggest Steve @ the gang at protechtx.com. They have done mine, and a lot of other work, excellent work every time. I always supply my own parts, and that is cool with them.
I have a set of front control arms in the garage that you could rebuild on...
I don't know what antenna you are using. I'm using a FT-897 with an ATAS-120a. It would not tune, until I grounded it properly. Also, I was a bit curious about how the lack of a metal roof effects the ground plane.
In any event, the documentation on the antenna, and everything I have read...
