    E-brake lock-up!!!

That's a lot less than I would guess, and I'm sure my rip off dealer would charge more. But that's pretty good. Also, it's worth noting from my experience that if you go used, make sure it's from the same year as yours. We bought one from either a 2006 or 2007 and it did not work in the 2005...

    E-brake lock-up!!!

I would side bet $100 that the part alone is over $1200 at the dealer!

    E-brake lock-up!!!

It is a pretty tough job to replace actuator. It's really stuffed up in there. My mechanic did NOT have a good time. But if you have a lift, hands the size of a small woman and a lot of patience I'm sure it can be done. I'd guess a new one and labor would easily be over two grand. I bought a...

    intersting observation..well to me

I've noticed this before, but today I got out a tape measure to verify. There is 3.25" from the back of my front right tire to the fender arch. There's a little under 2.75" from back of tire to left fender arch. Likewise the front of tire to front of arch are offset - so at least the wheel...

    NAV8 vs SCV6 Comparison

"The 2015 is .2 seconds slower to 60, and out on the street it feels even MORE lethargic than that" I'm not sure I'd use lethargic for .2 seconds to 60. These reviews crack me up. Worried about skidpad results on a 5600 pound vehicle? Then you're buying the wrong vehicle... Either one of...

    Front left brake grinding noise

I think all you did was bend the metal brake shield. On the inside of the rotor you will see the scoring it is making on the inside of the rotor. Just bend it back....and post some pictures of your off roading :)

    Water Pump

That's a bummer to hear, having a '13 with 32000 miles. Do you guys know if they replaced it with the same crappy water pump, or a better one that won't go bad in a couple years?

    Lowering an LR4.

Well if you're going to do it, you really need to have gold plated rims. And maybe some neon lights underneath. How do you feel about flames? I'm in the camp of people who think it's like putting a 6 inch lift and mudders on a fine sports car. Take an awesome purpose built vehicle, and...

    Lowering an LR4.

Oh please, please reconsider. I actually sighed out loud when I read the thread title. never should have opened it. That one's on me. Aside from looking ridiculous, and being insanely uncomfortable I can't imagine it would be particularly safe with virtually no suspension.

Brake Switch didnt help, Brake Bulbs didnt help...What Next??

Take it to the dealer for what? Pretty much any mechanic can check the charging system.

Brake Switch didnt help, Brake Bulbs didnt help...What Next??

Good point about charging system. 116,000 could easily be time for the alternator to go. When mine started to go about 105,000, faults flew all over the place.

How old is your battery? If it does it more when it gets colder, I'd look there first.

Camping Trip - Breaking in the RTT + Drawer System

Dan, Thanks. I've never noticed it before, but sigs don't show up on my iphone. So next question, it's gotta be 285/60, not 65, right?

I'm lost. How did this thread jump 3 years, then 4 years? And why is Bbyer's truck split in two?

Camping Trip - Breaking in the RTT + Drawer System

Hey that looked like a lot of fun. Took me a couple scrolls til I figured out what CVT and RTT was, but I got it :) Tire check please, what kind, what size?

    Leaking oil on floor

Interesting, I didn't actually know the bushings had oil in 'em. Did the LR3 also? I think it's hit or miss on who gets their control arms covered. I did with the LR3, guess I'll see in another few years if they cover the LR4 when they go bad. Farwell, I guess you really need to figure out...

Real world MPG on the LR4

I don't know how you get 28 in those, or any conditions. You sure you're not set to km per gallon?? Have you ever started full, and done the math yourself? Because something is goofy.

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

Great info. How much tread was left on the duratracs at 35,000? I'm not sure on my ATMs exactly because I switch back and forth with Hakkapeliittas but I'd guess they have at least 55,000 to 60,000 with a lot of miles left. Very impressed by that. Seems BFG is either love them or hate them...

    2008 lr3

Yeah, true that. A college kid needs a Jeep, period. I had a 10 year old rusted to pieces jeep in college with a stop sign that stood in for the floor board that had disintegrated. Most fun ever. I've definitely off roaded plenty but off roading in MI isn't nearly as technical as in the...
