    '98 Disco won't start

This may sound as though I'm isulting your intelligence, but....... Did you remove the injectors when you had the heads off?. They may have gummed up with dried out petrol over the time it has been sitting. Pull the injectors out and give them a clean with carb cleaner or injector cleaner. My...

Help! Major Coolant Loss and Overheating!

Do not put water in that yellow cap!!!! That is a breather for your engine block and there should be another matching hole with an orange cap on it where your oil goes in on the lhs (drivers side?) rocker cover. If your system pressure tested OK the next thin I would do would be to drive...

It goes from LOVE to HATE w/Disco

My 96 Series 1 did exactly the same thing a week after I bought it, the guy I bought it off said that it had done it to him once and disconnecting the battery had cured it. I tried this but no luck!!! I found a very easy and quick fix. New fuel pump and no problems not cheap though Cheers

Help! Major Coolant Loss and Overheating!

When my overflow tank split there was some coolant dripping from under the front of the car, but the only visible evidence on the tank itself was a crusting of dried coolant when it cooled. The bracket and inner fender obscured the side of the tank enough to stop a visual check showing the leak...

Help! Major Coolant Loss and Overheating!

Check that your overflow tank is alright, mine had a split seam which caused coolant loss at a high rate, luckily my Disco runs on LPG and has a coolant fed converter which would freeze up before the engine overheated.

Want to buy a Disco for my daughter....help please!

Couldn't you find her a Skoda or a Simca or maybe a Mercury Capri (the Australian built one based on the Mazda 323/Ford Laser platform), just to get her frustration/anger-management skills fully developed before graduating to a Disco?

    Reverse lamps

The switch you want to look at is the gear selector switch on the side of the transmission - not part of the selector inside the car

    oil leak... +

v/c gasket is Valve Cover gasket, down here in Aus we call it a Rocker Cover. It is held down with 4 small screws and just about every one of them leaks. My 96 Series 1 Disco doesn't burn any oil and doesn't mark it's spot but I always check the oil level and find I need to add a little from...

    One for the memory bank

Ok I found out how to put the code into my Eurovox radio so I could drown out the funny whirring noise coming from the transmission. The procedure is as follows. The Eurovox 7479 unit has a six digit release code. All six digits are between 1 and 6. Using the channel preselection buttons on...

    Considering Parting Out A 2003 Discovery S

Don't go fishing!! If you want to sell it put it in the classified section, otherwise you have an opportunity to make a great car even better. If you don't use it very often and can afford to keep it, look at this crash (There is no such thing as a car accident) as your chance to uprate the...

    Eurovox Audio System problems

I have a '95 Disco 1 on LPG and stupidly left the ignition turned on which flattened the battery. My problem is that I don't know the correct procedure for unlocking the radio security. The radio is a Eurovox 7479R radio/cassette with 10 stack CD changer under the driver's seat. I have the code...

    Greetings from Down Under

Hi to all, my name is Dick and have owned my 96 Discovery for about 8 months. I had it converted to LPG in January and didn't have any problems with it until my wife borrowed it for three days, now it backfires when accelerating after being fully warmed up and on the road for 20 or so...
