good ground location
anyone have advice on a good ground for my deck? i replaced the factory tapedeck w a in dash cdplayer and i bought the wiring harness for it. problem is although the antena plug grounds it it dosnt ground it well,and when the actual ground wire is hooked up, it creates more ground noise than... -

update - i re grounded both the ecu and the alternator that should ground the engine correct? i grounded both of them to the negative on the battery, which should be a solid ground. still had the problem. also checked the fuse box and it looks to be in real good shape checked the conections on... -

i will take it out and look tonight. the top looks perfect but i will take a look under tonight. also w the grounding idea possably being the problem, isnt the engine suposed to be grounded to the frame ? mine dosnt seem to be atleast not anywhere i can see. -

ok, if it is a grounding isssue, how do you suggest i fix it,regrounding it to somewhere else if so where?,and can i just use the existing wire? and just change the location? ill also check the fuse box. -

no corrosion on the plugs of the ecu, the ground seems solid and the wire was in good shape. also tryed the gas cap idea and that didnt help. whats next? :confused: -

the fuel pressure gauge was being rerad while driving. it stayed right around 35 and didnt drop even when the issue happend. also,letting off the gas dosnt clear it any more. what it will dois be driving full power(at whatever giver speed) it now happens at any speed. and say youre just driving... -

update. the problem is getting worse and very annoying. just checked the fule presure to the engine its good. even watched the guage not move while the engine did its failing or what ever it should called. also tryed unplugging sensors. one at a time. the mass air sensor, idle controle... -

it was just a matter of the o2 heater setting. i dont know if the o2 sensor or the cat set yet, but if theres only 2 things not reading right inspection will pass. so once the o2 heater said it was set i was able to pass. -

could it be a bad ecu? and the ecu just isnt reading the o2s? or something like that? if so where is te ecu located? is there a way to tell the ecu is good or bad? and if i were to replace the ecu, what do i need to know about replacing it,and if there is a special one i need to order for a 96... -

would a loose bolt on the header also maybe cause that? because i have a loose bolt on the header,just been busy with other problems and havent tightened it. -
