Your spec looks really nice! Since I complained so much before, here's what I really like about the Ineos Grenadier: -body on frame -appears to be an outstanding steering & suspension setup -17" wheels and available steelies -classic exterior design seems to meld best parts of old Defender... -

Only time well tell if the Grenadier is even as good off road as the Land Cruiser 70-Series, G-Wagon, JLU Wrangler Unlimited, or even the L663 Defender 110. I think it is truly a niche vehicle for someone who wants something different and does not mind paying for it. I doubt the aftermarket... -

High revving new Defender
I would not worry about it too much, though you are never wrong to ask the service department. High-idle upon ignition is a way to cycle oil through the heads and not uncommon in modern engines though usually 1,000-1,200 rpm is more common. I am more of a fan of newer JLR models in general as I believe quality/reliability/power improved from BMW ownership to Ford, to Tata. The 4.4 and 4.2 SC also seem gutless compared to the NA 5.0 V8 (AJ133), and the 5.0 SC is on another level.- doc5339

Ehh, would not use "bullet proof" and Land Rover in the same sentence unless the vehicle is armored. Recommend 2012+ Range Rover or LR4 with 5.0 V8 Pros: great power/torque, comfy, great sound, very capable even without HD package (active rear locking differential), awesome ride, decent towing...- doc5339

Yup, even a naturally aspirated AJ133 5.0 V8 really needs high octane (91 minimum) due to the high compression ratio. The ECU can ****** timing to a degree to try and prevent pre-ignition, but these really are performance engines and they need highest octane available (as well as better... -

Unless you are a serious gearhead who enjoys problem solving and wrenching, do not purchase this RRS without and Extended Land Rover warranty or at least CPO warranty. The best way to own a Land Rover, Jaguar, BMW etc is under factory warranty and even then it can be a frustrating experience...- doc5339

Transmission Flush opinions
x2 on good Indy LR Mechanic if you don't wanna yourself. If you did it yourself you could disconnect transmission cooler hose to run most of the old transmission fluid out as you flush. -

Are all terrains really necessary for even mild offroading?
Glad to hear they're in good shape. My barometer for running All Terrains would be 1% or more off roading, get 'em. I would not recommend doing even the moderate stuff at Uwharrie without good All Terrains. You could look for some old take-off/aftermarket 18" wheels with All Terrains and just... -

Sell, Land Rovers like BMWs are best owned under-warranty and even then can be a PITA. The best time to sell a vehicle is before it has problems not after it starts showing issues.- doc5339

Are all terrains really necessary for even mild offroading?
If your tires are actually OEM, they are getting a bit too old. Rubber compounds breakdown after 5 or 6 years. You can check the 4-digit numbers on the tires which indicate week/year manufactured. If the tires are actually over 7 years old, time for new tires and I would recommend All-Terrains... -

If the aftermarket (ARB or whomever) provided an electronic locking rear differential it would need to be tied-in to to the all-terrain drive modes as the center locking differential is.
