    Long crank, no faults

I'll attest to the TSB helping with my charging system. Just move the brown/blue wire from the (+) battery post over to the (+) main fuse block. It's been about a week and I've driven it maybe 3 days, and it's 1000x better than before. I'm still not convinced that this will fix the long crank...

    Driveshaft Compatibility

LR3 and LR4 share the same L319 platform and the axles and driveshafts are the same. The RRS has different part numbers.

    LR4 "Smart" Charging Charging Strategy

I just saw a video on youtube today... . Apparently there was a TSB that mentions moving the brown/blue bms cable from the positive terminal on the battery over to the positive cable of the main fuse block. I didn't check ohm resistance, I figured if it didn't work I'd check that later. I...

    Todays Battle

Looks like the coolant line, mine had a nylon sleeve over it to protect it from the metal bracket, more like an abrasion overlay. Something like this would add the extra protection, https://a.co/d/3mFzH7l.

Drivetrain Noise While accelerating and decelerating

Do you have a gopro or some camera that you can stick down there? Point it towards the front of the rear driveshaft at the CV joint and then at the U joint in the rear, and do the same with the front driveshaft. For me, I just happen to have my oem rear driveshaft with a torn boot at the CV...

Is an LR4 Body Lift Possible?

I know what you're talking about. I followed his build for a bit. He started off with 35s and then 37s. This is what he did... https://jaustonfab.com/range-rover-lift-kits/

Terrafirma Swingaway Tire Carrier Issue - Loose Wheel

How far does the wheel stud stick out? Just get some m14 washers and m14x1.5 nyloc nuts.

LR4 is getting hot inside with breathable car cover on

I have these that are pretty cool, but sucks while driving. https://www.seriesdefender.com/rear-window-vents-discovery.html. I also have something like these mesh window socks, that's easier to put on/off.

    Compressor running

Did you soapy water spray EVERYTHING, including the 3 valve blocks, compressor, drier, intake/exhaust, tank and struts?

    Ugghhh, brake booster vacuum pump...

They're pretty robust. The o-ring tends to get hard and brittle over time and oil leaks happen. Hopefully, yours will last a while. I replaced mine last year while doing an oil change. It's one of the easier things to do if you have to do replace it again.

How Much Do You Pay For Insurance?

Nice! I lucked out with changing over my comprehensive deductible about 2 months prior to replacing my panoramic roof. $500 for a new roof is pretty steep, let alone $1000. My $100 deductible covered a new oem panoramic roof, can't complain. $0 deductible is definitely better.

How Much Do You Pay For Insurance?

I would recommend changing the Comprehensive to a $100 deductible, not much of a difference in price. Mine came out to be a $40 difference for the whole 6 months going from a $500 to $100 deductible. When your glass breaks, its only $100 vs your current $1000 deductible. Doesn't hurt to ask to...

2012 LR4 Reluctant to lower from off-road suspension mode

If you're already low on freon, get a can with dye in it. Don't put the whole thing in, maybe 4oz in a few quick spurts. Use a kitchen scale to measure the full can and while you're dispensing it. Then check with a black light for leaks with the engine off and after running the AC for 15-20...

2012 LR4 Reluctant to lower from off-road suspension mode

If you have an AC manifold you can check the Hi/Lo pressure. If it's low, you can incrementally add r134a freon. Otherwise, you'll need to check other components of the hvac system.

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

The Hitachi unit is serviceable and the drier can be replaced along with serviceable piston parts. AMK is non-serviceable and requires a new assembly. So, depending on the unit you have, you can preemptively service it.

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

I would recommend replacing the drier before the compressor goes out. I have all oem struts to replace all 4 corners. So, that's a thing. You can replace every component for under $2k.

So, what would you do to "plan" for unforseen failures? That should be on the top of anyones list. @avslash and I share similar mentalities, from all the unforseen failures we've been through we try to plan for everything.

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

It was the Lucky8 HD LCA. I'm 100% sure it was the poly that caused it. The polys don't flex too much or at all, and diverts the stress points to somewhere else. Which happens to be the LCA bushing bracket. I've put my truck through a lot of harsh trails, but I don't abuse it. It finally gave...

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

My front LCA snapped at the poly bushing, pulled the axle out of the cv joint, and pinched the air strut. HD ratchet strap tied down to limp out of the trail. I always carry tools, but will be adding some more. Luckily, there was an O'Reillys a mile away for me to do this at our AirBnB...

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

Here's why you want underbody armor. Sometimes on THE most basic trail, ship happens. You're limping off the trail with a busted air shock and an axle barely hanging in the cv joint to get you moving, you'll be glad to have some protection. This is in limp mode with the SYA kit. The damage...

2012 LR4 Reluctant to lower from off-road suspension mode

If you jack up an arm with the engine running, this is what happens when you utilize the self-leveling to your advantage. Also, THE easiest way to change out a tire.

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

Sounds like you've done quite a bit already. I'd highly recommend full underbody skid plates, sump, transmission, transfer case (I can't seem to find one), gas tank, and rear diff (can't find one that I like). It's a peace of mind to have your investment protected. After that, it depends on...

2012 LR4 Reluctant to lower from off-road suspension mode

It will self-level even with the truck off. With the truck off over night or even days, sometimes it'll self-level after opening/closing a door.
