That's exactly it. The whole insurance/liability issue of the U.S. is a bit overwhelming. I just learned I will also need renter's insurance, which I have never had but assume will provide coverage for our belongings and any damage on the property.
Previous cars I bought were financed so the bank took care of insurance as they would be the primary beneficiary on the policy (basically covering/protecting their investment).
For a couple of years I simply had company cars for myself and my wife and someone took care of the insurance (not...
I will pick up our new vehicles the first week of August and assume I will require some kind of proof of insurance before taking them home.
How does this work? Do I need to contract coverage with a VIN the dealer can give me, beforehand?
Any recommendations? Should I just quote online with...
We will sell our 2011 Discovery 4 here in Panama and already ordered the new 2013 LR4 from Darien Land Rover. It was the perfect excuse for an update.
Work will be up in Bethel so I will not be looking at homes near the coast. I want to keep my commute under 30 minutes. I've setup some nice...
We're moving to CT this summer (August) and I went through the dealer search in my quest to buy an LR4 and a RRS. I talked to 4 different dealers (Mt. Kisco, Millford, Farmington & Darien) and got the best treatment/customer care and the sweetest deal from Darien Land Rover.
Ask for Tyler...
We'll be house hunting in CT and NY the week of June 10th. I am tempted to stop by the Land Rover dealer and take a look at our RRS. The LR4 was special ordered but the RRS is sitting in their lot
I have some friends living right outside Worcester in Millbury.
I noticed you got a shift stick instead of the rotating thing that pops up (like in the Evoque). Did you have to specify this?
The LR4 looks incredible!
That is a neat feature I look forward to on the NAV system of our 2013 LR4. We never got to use the NAV system on our Discovery 4 here in Panama because it didn't come loaded with Central America maps.
I got the covers that go on the front seats to protect the back of the seats from her feet (usually covered in mud) but I might have to get full seat covers for both rows when we get our new LR4 in CT.
Impressive!
We are all novice wake boarders, so I guess the AR190 wake will do
I am also looking for a comfortable family boat (kids are 1 & 4)
I never thought of putting it back there. I didn't even realize there was a slot to fit it behind the third row. Land Rover does think of everything
The 242 Limited S is a beatiful boat
I was thinking on getting a Yamaha AR190 (our first boat), since there will be some nice lakes close to where we're moving.
Are the Yamaha jet boats a good choice for a first-timer? Do you recommend towing the boat to and from the lake (with...
I got an offer from the dealer to do brakes on my last service. I declined the offer since the brake light had not turned on. It will be in for the next service (new owner will take it) in a couple of months and still no brake light.
I could never find a "compelling" reason to spend $56K on an LR4 and $67K on a RRS other than I really like them both :proud:
There are many other SUVs we could have got for half the cost but like Count Laszlo once said: "Once you get the Land Rover bug, you can not shake it. One can not pin...
Private sales are a pain and Dealer trade in is very comfortable, so you need to take a hit for the convenience. How much? It's up to you.
If your dealer is already making money on the sale of the new car, he should be inclined to pay you fair market/KBB for your trade in. Having said this...
