    First service

Not much. I carry my motorcycle around on a hitch carrier (some of it off road) and take the truck into the sand on our weekend beach trips. I have only done 3 off-road trips with some rock crawling.

    First service

I got the email from the dealer. Recommended 1st service is after 12.000 Km or 6 months, whatever comes first.

    Tire Pressure?

David, Check out the video I posted of a Discovery 4 in australia doing some tough off-roading on street tires. It is much more than what you're planning and it handled the stuff with no problems. If you are in the sand and you get stuck you can let some air out and it will help you...

Fresh off the boat - Getting tired of rentals

I know exactly what you mean  I walk away looking back at my R1200GS every time and I have found myself doing the same with the Discovery 4 :stupid:

New '12 LR4 HSE Indus Silver

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! You will love your new LR4 (we have:proud:) and so will your kids. My daughter will not have her mom drive her to daycare in our other car, she only likes to ride on the Land Rover.

First scar on my Discovery 4

Based on your responses maybe $450 at the dealer, which should ensure right color and correct assembly of parts isn't too bad. I'm assuming they would take the tail gate cover off, fix the dent and paint the entire part.

First scar on my Discovery 4

It's going to the shop. Still don't know if I'll take it to the dealer or somewhere else. $450 seems too much for the paint job.

First scar on my Discovery 4

The Land Rover dealer quoted US$450 for the repairs :stupid: so I'm getting separate quotes from local body shops. In the mean time, I modified the hitch carrier to hook a tie-down strap from the foot peg backwards, so the bike can't fall off forward (like it did) and I'm all set to go off to...

First scar on my Discovery 4

I wasn't going fast (probably 40 MPH) but I still dragged it for a couple of yards before I moved as out of the way as possible. :creep: Nothing happened to the bike but as it fell off, the exhaust leaned against the tail gate:

Except this time I was hauling my new hitch carrier (not the first time) and the bike fell off :ahhhhh:

First scar on my Discovery 4

I got the first scar on my Discovery 4, and it did not happen on any off-road adventure. Here's what happened: My usual set-up for Sunday morning motocross :hello:

This forum is dying a slow painful death!

Blackforestham, I get you. I thought the same way about BMW GS riders. The bike is made to take you anywhere, yet most riders only use it for on road touring or commuting (it's a great bike for that but a little overkill in my opinion. Grest if you can afford it). People used to tell me I was...

Swagman XTC4 Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Review

Captain, Nice setup! I have a dirtbike hitch carrier and works great with the LR4. I put it on access height to load the bike and on off-road height when I get to the track (uneven access dirt road).

    2011 lr4 dead

Let us know what "the authorities" say when you report Rambo accusing you of licking his behind or warning you to watch yourself. I thought you were not concerned about the "death" threats... Besides the only way Rambo's messages could be interpreted as a death threat is if you were to die...

Another Proud Moment for this LR4 Owner!!

That's exactly what did it for me. The perfect mix of both worlds: Luxury (in the cabin features and finishes) & Capability (to carry 7 full grown adults, to tow a trailer with 3 bikes, to go off road).
