The time has come to move on...

Thanks Erek. It is a bittersweet moment for sure, but at least we are staying in the LR family. I may be back when the new Defender is released.

The time has come to move on...

The time has come to move on. After 7 years and over 91,000 miles, our 2005 LR3 was traded today. Decided to downsize, and purchased a 2012 Range Rover Evoque Premium for my wife to drive. As one of the early LR3 owners, this has been a long journey. It has provided safe transport to 9...

    60k Service Costs/worth??

Regarding the front end noise, did they check the arm bushings? Those are often in need of replacement in the range of your current mileage. Regarding scheduled maintenance cost, my 60k service was $675 for the scheduled items. That was over 3 years ago, and conveniently listed earlier in...

Going to buy 4Runner Trail, convince me otherwise!!!

I've got over 90k now on an '05 LR3 HSE7. Still looks and drives like new, but you can expect to spend $ on maintenance and occasional repairs. Just part of the cost of ownership. cbboard - the Rubi looks great! Another former LR3 forum member "coop" made the same switch last year. I'd...

    mileage has dropped

Tire pressure okay? With the colder temps, you typically drop 1 psi for every 10 deg F. Just checking for the simple causes first...

Is it time for a new air filter? They are normally scheduled at 60K miles.

LR3 Steering Wheel & Air Bag Cover

I had both replaced under original warranty, as did many others. It should not be considered normal for these items to wear out at 40K miles (although they are both common issues on the LR3)

    2005 lr3

They are as reliable as any other year. There were a few initial issues with the '05, but all were updated and resolved early on via recalls and TSBs. Overall condition, mileage, and maintenance are far better indicators than model year for these vehicles. We're at 88k miles and near 7 years...

    Rubber Floor Mats

I have them, and just don't use the anchors in the 2nd row. I swap summer/winter mats, and the anchor points in the 2nd row do not align. The weight is sufficient to keep them in place. Note, you should have received anchors with the mats, along with instructions on how to install them into...

    Rear wiper issues, any thoughts?

Yes, that is the one. You may need to remove the wiper arm completely, then reposition. I don't specifically recall if there were splines as it was a year ago. You will see when you start to loosen, it was a fairly straight forward adjustment.

    Rear wiper issues, any thoughts?

I've had encountered both issues. The "sticking" arm (won't do a full sweep, slows or gets stuck part way) was remedied with some WD40 sprayed on the arm hinges. The droopy arm was resolved by removing and re-attaching in the proper position. Approaching 90k miles with the original rear...

    Do you rotate your tires?

Todd, See below for standard 4 wheel rotation patterns. I prefer "A". Not sure why people would not recommend regular tire rotations, unless they are concerned about the cost/benefit. My shop does them for free, so this not an issue. My LR3 has a 5 wheel rotation pattern (have the HD...

First time that my LR3 saw snow!

Hahaha, so true. We've been in blizzards here during recent winters in the Northeast, and always like to take out the LR3 to play. Even my wife encourages a little joy ride right after a heavy snow, very scenic before the plows and cars start to hit the roads. You're not in Florida any more...

    Land Rover Tailgate Noise

Going OT but since you asked :) I've owned E21, E36, E46, and E90. Have driven many many others too.

    Land Rover Tailgate Noise

That is not normal. I also came from BMW's, and the LR3 is solid as a bank vault.
