LR3 Steering Wheel & Air Bag Cover
I had both replaced under original warranty, as did many others. It should not be considered normal for these items to wear out at 40K miles (although they are both common issues on the LR3) -
2005 lr3
They are as reliable as any other year. There were a few initial issues with the '05, but all were updated and resolved early on via recalls and TSBs. Overall condition, mileage, and maintenance are far better indicators than model year for these vehicles. We're at 88k miles and near 7 years... -

Rubber Floor Mats

Yes, that is the one. You may need to remove the wiper arm completely, then reposition. I don't specifically recall if there were splines as it was a year ago. You will see when you start to loosen, it was a fairly straight forward adjustment. -

I've had encountered both issues. The "sticking" arm (won't do a full sweep, slows or gets stuck part way) was remedied with some WD40 sprayed on the arm hinges. The droopy arm was resolved by removing and re-attaching in the proper position. Approaching 90k miles with the original rear... -

Hahaha, so true. We've been in blizzards here during recent winters in the Northeast, and always like to take out the LR3 to play. Even my wife encourages a little joy ride right after a heavy snow, very scenic before the plows and cars start to hit the roads. You're not in Florida any more... -
