Something is stuck behind my ash tray

Common failure, had to have mine replaced. The replacement assembly includes the ashtray, lighter, power socket. Price was ~$35 I think it is more complicated than posted above. Shifter, center console, all needed to come out too. There is a DIY with pics on disco3.co.uk

    CB Radio installs

Another option to consider... My car club uses 2-way FRS radios to communicate. Hand held, inexpensive, and many have a range of 2+ miles.

    Rant!!!

Agree with Houm. There is enough space here for all discussions, technical or other. But also agree that some of the "What did you do today..." posts can be a bit too much. Daily routines like driving to the dentist, washing the car, putting gas in the tank - we all do this. Is it...

SE/HSE, whcih one did you choose/why?

Making me work, are you? Here is a pic I found online. The tweeter at the bottom of the A-pillar says "harmon kardon Logic7" and there are two mid-size speakers in the box in the door panel below.

    Bad Diffs

Group buy? Put me down for one ;) I think we're all going to need a breather after this thread  Seriously though, good info. Going to add this to the next visit.

    Avatar size

My avatar is limited to 50x50 pixels in User CP, while I see others members on this site with 75x75. How do I request permission for a slightly larger avatar?

SE/HSE, whcih one did you choose/why?

The H/K Logic7 will have two speakers in each box in the upper front doors. There are other differences too, but this is a quick way to tell the difference. LOL @ Sponge Bob!

    Bad Diffs

Did all three at the 67.5K mile visit. 50/100/150k would have been easier to remember, had I thought of it sooner  Not a big expense, considering the alternative.

    Bad Diffs

TSB and/or VIN range would help

Thanks for the news! Looking forward to an update when the information appears on their website :hello:

    Bad Diffs

I proactively replaced the front/rear diff oil, along with the transfer case oil, earlier than the recommended interval. This is probably the best (and least costly) option to extend the life of these components. Wonder if the LR4 has the same part numbers, and/or if they were reworked for...

    Factory wook kit on LR3

Did you check the official accessories catalog? I have one at home, and thought there were steering wheels and shift knobs, but not sure. Here is another source: http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/9350K.cfm?gpf

SE/HSE, whcih one did you choose/why?

HSE7 with all of the options boxes checked (sorry Bigs!) - because it is the primary family hauler, and planned to keep it for at least 5 years. Now going into 6th year of ownership, and looking forward several more!

How Would You Rate Your LR3's Finish?

The finish on our LR3 has held up great - possibly better than any other vehicle I've owned. Not bad for a 5+ year old vehicle which is not garaged. Proper maintenance helps too, however most of the blemishes on our LR3's finish were self-induced

    Sporadic air bag warning light

It has been reported by other owners. I would definately get it addressed. See the links in this thread for potential causes and fixes: http://forums.landroverworld.org/showthread.php?t=18397&highlight=airbag

Nathan, you are well connected ;) I was in the dealership waiting room recently, opened up an older copy of LR World magazine, and there you were!

    OEM Driving Lights

Wanted to add one more item to the thread for future reference... I also have the factory aux lights (recent DIY install) and had the dealer program them today for ~$50.

    Subtle "Fart" noise

Quick update. I had the same issue as the OP. Dealer applied silicone lube to the fresh air damper and problem solved for $24.95. Refer to TECLTB001032.

What did you do to your LR3 today?

Went family camping over the weekend: Had to get around a few obstructions on the way. Bad storms from the night before left many trees and powerlines down, multiple roads closed trying to get out of our community:
