Final Update on this So bit the bullet and got the LR to the local indie. Diagnosis pressure sensor in the EGR valve, $550 later (Diags, labor and part) we are back on the road again. -

Update OK so update. Left the LR stood for a week and it started right up added some gas to it and it ran fine, even restarted no problems. left it to sit 20 mins and tried again, wouldn't start again.... However this time it threw a completely different set of codes, got 2 P2100's. Going... -

Thanks for the info guys the reason I was confused was I had pulled down EBC's 2007 USA/Canada Automotive Information Excel file and it gave the same part number (GD1339) for the 4.0 V6 as the 4.4 V8 for there dimpled and slotted rotors on 05 and up LR3's, it also list them both as having... -
