Less intrusive auxillary switches?
Below brake lines. About 4-5" above center of steering shaft opening. Nothing near it on either end, so a safe place to poke a hole. I definitely triple and quadruple checked what was around and was I seeing it correctly!- MellonRover

Wanted to add some additional circuits for lighting. Turns out the Auxbeam AS-R60 fits into the console stack pretty neatly. Popped the wood trim off the ashtray and screwed directly to the insert. Bought it from eBay after "watching" then they offered $145 price. Amazon has it for $169. Tapped...- MellonRover

Crazy to consider new engine in a 2016 LR4?
Step 1 should be verification of state of engine by someone who knows these vehicles. Then decide. Might be leaky coolant fitting and torn pcv. ( Much cheaper and easier fix)- MellonRover

Increasing approach angle?

Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should. The second one, which died an inglorious death via copart, has no flares due to the 35's ripping them off. The first one did do light offroading, but still rubbed. The wheel wells, and suspension don't leave us much room. Over 32-33 you lose...- MellonRover

Why Compomotives?
Compos were the first alloy ( mud tech too I guess) to be at least 1550kg wheels, 18" AND clear the 5.0 lr4 front brakes. Brake clearance was the biggest factor for its popularity.- MellonRover

History...as I recall.... In the beginning there were two choices in direct fit alloys made for d3/d4's. Compomotive and mud tech. Mud tech folded, leaving compos, along with terra firma steelies as options. Tuffant came out with steelies, then later the alloys. With evo course dakkars coming...- MellonRover

2011 LR4 micro surges and pulsing headlights
The bad one I got was not regulating correctly. You could visually see the regulator was 1/2 the denso size. Had to peer into the plastic just to see it. Talk to your mechanic, work should be warrantied if only a few months. Ask if you can supply the alternator and get a denso one.- MellonRover

Mine showed the correct voltage range most of the time. But would strobe headlights and even spike to 15+v. Is your passenger( is right side) valve cover leaking onto the alternator?- MellonRover

TPMS Disabled, but still showing errors?
Have to turn tpms off for all wheels. Truck sees "Spare" as " the fifth wheel. Normally it monitors all four road going wheels and the spare. Now it only sees three road wheels. Or ignore it... I have tpms turned off for all wheels and no errors, or tpms sensors to worry about replacing.- MellonRover

I had intermittent " no volume" randomly over about 10 months. Then one day, following a no volume system went dark. The system blinks if it's looking for "complete circuit". I think it blinks and if sees a break it will stop blinking and " give up" sending a signal. Once it sees no breaks it...- MellonRover

Before I buy 18” wheels….
Narrow tires ( pizza cutters) work wonders for rubbing. Also pay attention to offset. Too close in and it will rub on control arm, too far out and you'll lose a fender flare, and it stresses bearings even more. Front bearings don't need any help...the 275 on your example is more of an issue than...- MellonRover

Welp....359 degrees later, I'm just about where I thought I'd have the problem. Prior to dealing with fiber optic " Christmas lights type" one unit fails the others fail too. Yep, all rear modules checked, bypass the under seat amp ( what I initially thought) and blinking whet to solid red...- MellonRover
