    Tuffant USA is phasing steelies out. If you are going to do it, you should pull the trigger. Defender "steelies" also are a direct fit. Some say their dealer was overstocked with takeoffs and sold them cheap.

    So....update. Front driveshaft started clacking. Must have gotten junk in there. I packed as much grease in and buttoned up in situ. But that must not have been enough. What an annoyance that was to replace. Did rear too because...why not. ($105 in just bolts...)

    I used a napa rebuilt in a pinch ( 4 hours from home) and mine threw code for secondary pump when alternator spiked. Same as you, stalled and wouldn't start.
