    Hot AC when in Reverse

When I was having problems with my fan around 3 years ago I remember my research turning up a lot of different issues that were associated with the relay, which is located right near the fan (under the dash, above the passenger-side footwell). No idea how reverse would affect that, though.

Question about Suspension Faults and Blowing out the lines

To (hopefully) close the loop on this, replaced the rear struts last Saturday (August 26) and the rear valve block last Sunday (August 27) and the code has yet to reappear. It would sometimes take 4 or 5 days before it would pop up again after I'd clear it, but it's now been over a week and...

Limp mode and found two weird connections that are not connected to anything

iiD tool, and it isn't even close. If you intend on keeping your LR4 long term, or even just more than a year, it's a must. Might seem a little pricy for a diagnostic tool, but it gives you so many features and there's a used market for them if you ever sell. I only got by without a iiD tool...

    Removing rear seat headrests?

There's an additional hidden button on the plastic trim that surrounds the headrest posts. It's not the same button you use to raise or lower the headrests.

    Thoughts on these spark plugs?

While not excessively difficult, the spark plug job on an LR4 isn't exactly a breeze, either. Boggles my mind that someone would go through the trouble of changing the plugs but use the wrong parts.

    Removing rear seats?

I think the optimal use for the space is for small packaged things, like a tool roll, tire plug kit, etc. Then, over the top, do something like a sliding floor, like this one: Or, build a cargo system like this one, with a slight modification. The modification would be to add a few bars...

    Removing rear seats?

My plan is to maybe do this myself, but it will probably require a false floor over it as the floor under the 3rd row seats is pretty uneven.

Question about Suspension Faults and Blowing out the lines

I've had Arnotts in the front since April 2021 and have put around 27k miles on them. So far, so good, but I suppose my current problem could wind up being them as every suspension component is currently a suspect.

2013 to 2014 Face Lift Headlight Install

A long and pretty skinny flathead screwdriver, adjusting a plastic screw. There is one screw that adjusts up and down and one that does left and right. I can't absolutely recall where they are as I sit here at my desk, but I know they are on the back of the headlight housing and you'll need...

Question about Suspension Faults and Blowing out the lines

I used silicone spray throughout. Everything seemed to work okay until the last few weeks. Everywhere I search on the codes I'm getting is a situation that was solved with a valve block, so I'm guessing it's probably the rear. That said, the rear air struts look like an easier job than the...

Agreed. The LR4 has more than enough power and is pretty quick for what it is.

Question about Suspension Faults and Blowing out the lines

Well, it was potentially super interesting, but turns out it was wrong. Suspension warning light came back on again today and all the tires are properly aired up. I guess it was just a big coincidence. My theory was that one strut was having to air up a little more than the others, but it's...

Question about Suspension Faults and Blowing out the lines

Update to my suspension codes. This is embarrassing, but the problem was a leaky tire. I have never found a TPMS sensor I like the look of for my Defender steelies, so I've never run them and have turned the TPMS off. Didn't realize a tire was slowly leaking as my e-rated BFG All Terrains...

    LR4 Owner Considering Disco 2

I never felt much love for the Disco 2. Dream would be a Disco 1 with the reliability of my LR4. I had a Disco 1 for about a year back in 1998 to 1999. Only had about 22k miles on it but it was constantly having small little issues, and I overbought and didn't have enough money to maintain it...

2013 LR4 Rear Axle Fault, Stability control not available, Emergency brake assist not available, HDC not available system fault

Does your LR4 have the HD package? Am I right in thinking that would be the only way the rear diff would have a motor?

The Quest for A Durable Front Crossover Pipe

There was a class action on the timing chain guides. Nothing I've heard on the crossover pipes. I'm sure Land Rover considers it a wear item. Around 60k miles is the consensus on when you should change them.

2013 LR4 Rear Axle Fault, Stability control not available, Emergency brake assist not available, HDC not available system fault

If it didn't happen when you had the fuse cable issue I would take a wild guess and say it was a wheel speed sensor, but it almost has to have something to do with what happened with the fuse cable. To be clear, did you clear the codes with the icarsoft and the last post is what came back after...

    DIY Cargo/Sleeping platform

I keep kicking around ideas for a rear storage system, but it would make it a whole lot easier to envision/build if I got a rear tire carrier and did not have to worry about accessing the spare tire winch. This at least looks light enough that you could remove it if you need to access the spare...

At Long Last... Modern head unit!

There was a poster on here a loooong time ago who did it. So long ago, in fact, that he opted to keep the stock head unit and replace everything from there on down. https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/aftermarket-stereo-installed.20070/ 2010 was before carplay and most everything else...

    Dual engine air intake channels

The LR3 had the same intake, but only a single intake on the U.S. passenger side. It's why you can't just use an LR3 snorkel on an LR4 - because it would only aid 1/2 of the intakes. I'm kind of surprised that nobody has made a second snorkel for the U.S. driver's side.
