Tried to get my suspension fixed
FWIW- Last oil change at my LR mechanic was $275 total ($119 labor...less than an hr.). Yes, it should be 8L and 0w20 is spec. The Liquid-Moly 'Leichtlauf' is good stuff...about $42 retail for 5L, but Liquid-Moly also makes a Special Tech LR 0w20 (or 5w20), it's a few more $'s though. It's uber... -

You said the magic word! What's happening (in case of failure), since the system is of course under pressure, gasoline can be atomizing in a very bad location under the passenger compartment. Your's may be fine, but why take that chance?. The part also contains a fuel filter, so that will be... -

New Recall Alert : Fuel System
Ever smell gas when you really shouldn't? Mine was intermittent and an inside odor. There have been some bad repair stories (likely incompetence) but JLR seems to have the part itself and the repair figured out. After all, the recall involves roughly 110K LR4 and RRS. -

I think I have officially replaced every hose ever made for my LR4. Exhausting search for my latest leak.
Lowest miles I've heard. Some around 40-50K. Oh well. Thanks for the punch list and the (nightmarish) diagram. Could it get any more "complex"?...and then, to keep it interesting, throw in some inferior parts that could cost an engine. -

What's your mileage again? Asking as one with a 21k miles '16 wondering (and concerned) if these weak links in the coolant (ing) system only wear-out or might even age-out ? I'm occasionally driving in some real hot weather lately, and keeping an eye out for leaks..so far nothing. Anyone... -

Same comments on the oil changes...and the engine cooling system if that hasn't been done !!! There is also a recall out that you should make sure is done. The outlet flange on top of the fuel tank cracks over time then leaks. I believe the part also contains a fuel filter. There are a couple... -

Is an LR4 Body Lift Possible?
They were the same. First generation RRS (L320) was used a semi-monocoque/body on frame like LR3- LR4 through MY 2013. Second generation RRS (L494) MY 2014 to current (like the one shown), is a true uni-body. That Company's kits/lifts are for uni-body vehicles. Looks like it sure works though !! -

Same pads here, but I did replace the rotors w/ zinc coated. No more squealing at all, about 3.5k miles post brake job (see earlier posts) and the performance is just fine. -

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?
Should be really interesting this year. Appears your Club has it planned for late August, but there is still over 15 feet of snow pack on some of the mountains around Tahoe and the Rubicon. Thinking it may be a really wet slog in places...in addition to the usual daunting challenges. Cheers... -

Diagnostic Tool for Discovery 5
I'm not aware of a place that rents GAP IID tools. You might be able to find an independent mechanic that owns the 'Pro' version of the tool (or other LR diagnostic gear) and would help you out for less than a LR dealer. The standard tool (GAP IID BT G3 @ $500 +/-) owned by most is code-locked...- LB Bill

Really bad business decision by the dealer. Not really a shocker,..but still. Also sets a really low bar for "work fine". SMH. Just for the heck of it, shoot a note off to the JLR dealer rep. for the area? A 'farewell'..forever. -

Yikes! All that you said, plus the damage it can do to ones checkbook. (would to mine anyway).
