    Showoff Your LR4

That guy has lived a sheltered life. Looks perfectly normal to me. Still my favorite color (no..not the orange trailer).

Current Brake Pad and Rotor Recommendations?

Did the exact same combo., using my LR indy for the install. With about 4k on them now, happy in all respects.

Tried to get my suspension fixed

FWIW- Last oil change at my LR mechanic was $275 total ($119 labor...less than an hr.). Yes, it should be 8L and 0w20 is spec. The Liquid-Moly 'Leichtlauf' is good stuff...about $42 retail for 5L, but Liquid-Moly also makes a Special Tech LR 0w20 (or 5w20), it's a few more $'s though. It's uber...

    Removing rear seats?

Those are 'tether strap anchorage points' for a child seat or a restraint system in the second row seats. In case you have a youngster or perhaps someone in custody! (same thing)...LOL. Owners Book pg.43. Just another one of the "Clever asf" things that makes us love these trucks...in spite of...

    Dual engine air intake channels

Same air intake set up for the SCV6. Here's a link to the parts diagram and parts list for 2015 (I imagine '16 as well) https://parts.landrovercary.com/v-2015-land-rover-lr4--base--3-0l-v6-gas/engine--air-intake

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

You said the magic word! What's happening (in case of failure), since the system is of course under pressure, gasoline can be atomizing in a very bad location under the passenger compartment. Your's may be fine, but why take that chance?. The part also contains a fuel filter, so that will be...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Ever smell gas when you really shouldn't? Mine was intermittent and an inside odor. There have been some bad repair stories (likely incompetence) but JLR seems to have the part itself and the repair figured out. After all, the recall involves roughly 110K LR4 and RRS.

What kind of leak is this?

Here's the link to post #19 of a thread on here that has a video of the repair. Yes, it's accessible from the top... not too easily, but probably the only way. https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/diy-water-pump-and-crossover-pipe-video.30519/post-191447

I think I have officially replaced every hose ever made for my LR4. Exhausting search for my latest leak.

Lowest miles I've heard. Some around 40-50K. Oh well. Thanks for the punch list and the (nightmarish) diagram. Could it get any more "complex"?...and then, to keep it interesting, throw in some inferior parts that could cost an engine.

I think I have officially replaced every hose ever made for my LR4. Exhausting search for my latest leak.

What's your mileage again? Asking as one with a 21k miles '16 wondering (and concerned) if these weak links in the coolant (ing) system only wear-out or might even age-out ? I'm occasionally driving in some real hot weather lately, and keeping an eye out for leaks..so far nothing. Anyone...

    Showoff Your LR4

Same comments on the oil changes...and the engine cooling system if that hasn't been done !!! There is also a recall out that you should make sure is done. The outlet flange on top of the fuel tank cracks over time then leaks. I believe the part also contains a fuel filter. There are a couple...

    Alternatives to GAP tool?

Ditto what f1racer said about service/coop from GAP...Even though I bought my GAP IID Tool from Lucky 8 Off Road.

New 2013 Fuji White LR4 owner

Welcome! Here's a link to a post from this forum that includes the LR4 'Maintenance Check Sheet' for 2010 MY- Onwards..Up to 160K miles. Of course this is just JLR's recommend minimum maintenance and intervals. There is a wealth of info on this forum regarding what you might expect form a 5.0...

    LCA Skid Plates

Very interested to see their new design rack..(w the wind fairing)..on your truck. I always liked their original design, the low profile and form fit to the roofline, and I had considered ordering one. Always a long wait and a bit costly though. I have a feeling that it wasn't as...

    Air Suspension Performance

I'm inclined to agree with you. He must suffer from STML. Would also share your concern about him striping things out in order to find it. Bummer! (behind the sun visor?..lol)

Is an LR4 Body Lift Possible?

They were the same. First generation RRS (L320) was used a semi-monocoque/body on frame like LR3- LR4 through MY 2013. Second generation RRS (L494) MY 2014 to current (like the one shown), is a true uni-body. That Company's kits/lifts are for uni-body vehicles. Looks like it sure works though !!

Great outcome. Hope you're not forced to test this ^this^!

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

Same pads here, but I did replace the rotors w/ zinc coated. No more squealing at all, about 3.5k miles post brake job (see earlier posts) and the performance is just fine.

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

Should be really interesting this year. Appears your Club has it planned for late August, but there is still over 15 feet of snow pack on some of the mountains around Tahoe and the Rubicon. Thinking it may be a really wet slog in places...in addition to the usual daunting challenges. Cheers...

    Diagnostic Tool for Discovery 5

I'm not aware of a place that rents GAP IID tools. You might be able to find an independent mechanic that owns the 'Pro' version of the tool (or other LR diagnostic gear) and would help you out for less than a LR dealer. The standard tool (GAP IID BT G3 @ $500 +/-) owned by most is code-locked...

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

Ditto, that is confusing..intentionally..I think. FWIW, Here's my understanding of the difference between OEM/OE/'Genuine'. The Ferodo pads from FCP are OE. The 'Genuine' version (w/the Land Rover stamp) are available from Atlantic British @ $299.95 for the fronts only, and of course from the...

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

Great! Clearly the right thing for them to do. Just fyi, been paying more attention driving around town (sounds turned down) since this started and my last post..no more squealing at all from my Ferodos. Good luck!

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

Really bad business decision by the dealer. Not really a shocker,..but still. Also sets a really low bar for "work fine". SMH. Just for the heck of it, shoot a note off to the JLR dealer rep. for the area? A 'farewell'..forever.

LR4 to Defender direct comparison questions

Yikes! All that you said, plus the damage it can do to ones checkbook. (would to mine anyway). Each time the thought crosses my mind, I go on the LR USA site and build a 110 that would at least equal the features, comfort and most of the capability of my LR4..that instantly disabuses me of the...
