    Well crap!

maybe the v8 is a smother firing engine. Our v6 is like a damn diesel.

    Well crap!

whoa, wait, huh? Your car insurance is covering this? What am i missing? Or, did you have some kind of after market warranty?

    Well crap!

thinking about a preemptive change of our front and rear crossover pipes. Anyone have an idea what a decent indie shop would charge? Guessing dealer is stupid money. Thanks

    2015 LR4 BRAKES

I've done two sets on ours. It's a 2015 LUX. Still running original rotors and sensors. Heard the sensors replacement is sucks up front, so I've always beat them to the punch. The brake job sans sensors/rotors took me under an hour both times. Easy

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

you had them done at 70k miles. They likely needed replaced much sooner. I didn't even know ours were bad and didn't even believe they were bad up until the repair. NOTE: the repair was under service contract so I paid $0 for it but I still questioned whether it needed it. They assured me it...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

Still crackin' me. Yes, yes, yes, I've travelled your lovely country back in the late 90s and up until 2006 when it use to be a lovely place to go. Fond memories of spending time in Covent Garden although The Strand where I stayed had no A/C and it was at the top of my company's allotted...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

That's funny. Brit's and fast. Crackin' me bro. Next someone's going to tell me they've been in a jaguar above 90 mph and it felt comfortable...

Crankshaft Sensor or Timing Chain or ?

I'd take a look at the oil to see if you have coolant in it. That exhaust plume looks like coolant getting somewhere it shouldn't be. Might be wrong, but doesn't look good.

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

our control arm bushings when on our 2015 at 39k miles. it's my wifes car. Never been offroad. Never been abused, never even been on a gravel/dirt road. Garaged always and every maintenance done. Total bs at this mileage for sure.

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

Sadly, we've never actually taken our LR4 on any long trips other than bringing it home from LA (where we bought it) to Seattle. It sees mostly island duty for my wife and our island is really, really small. When we do road trips we are usually pulling the Travel trailer behind Fred, our F350...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

I can buy it. I am sure our landy will do it. I just would never do it. That said, i am guessing you were not running stock tires. I'm just saying that, 150 in a 911 is not comfortable (at least not for me) and I've done that and more a number of times. In comparison to the LR4, I've done 145...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

Yeah, i am not buying it. Looks like a sloppy strap down on a dyno or the person videoing purposely shaking and titling the phone. If you turn it up, you hear a ton of mechanical notes like a dyno spinning. If this was a road scenario, then why not show, well, the road before or after. This...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

I can maybe buy that, sorta. But I can tell you, the difference between 135 and 151 in one of these is probably close to the difference between impulse power and warp 10 on the enterprise. If any of you have been past 150, just imagine what it would be like in one of these. It's literally...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

LOL. That might be the biggest whopper I've heard in a while. You show me one fool that's removed the rev limiter and driven and LR4 151 mph. Hahaha. That's funny. I guess with the exception of a completely controlled environment with a straightaway and no bumps or curves and that's a maybe...

what’s the fastest you’ve gone in your LR4

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend it. LR4 suspension is a bit floaty for sure. Hit a dip wrong, and away you go into the gigglies. Most people who say they go fast and "it felt comfortable" are either lying about how fast they are going, or lying about it feeling comfortable. I've driven the...

    Defender(s) making a massive scene recovering a 20ton truck

Totally faked video IMO. It appears that the 20 ton truck is under it's own power. Nothing remarkable here.

    Extended Warranty Debate

Frank, It's First Automotive. My dealer sells it. They gave me the choice of JLR backed but said it sucked and we not a JLR plan but a 3rd party anyway. They told me First Automotive would cover lower control arm bushing. When I bought it a year ago. Sure enough, they did cover them. I paid $0...

    Extended Warranty Debate

that is a total ripoff. My servicing dealer sold me a 4 year and additional 40,000 mile plan for $4000. I just posted the other day about using it for the first time for lower control arm bushings. I'd say, if they are willing to out the screws to you for what amounts to about $200/month for...

    Another Defender hint?

Not much diff in these SUV rides anymore. tech is cheap to make them ride well. Even my 2018 f350 Super duty rides as well as my 2014 Suburban LTZ. ride tuning is cheap and easy now. Looks like Ford must have walked away with the original defender designs as part of the break up. And, you can...

Extended Warranty price $4,000. First repair $1795. 3 years to go

The brakes is the one thing I do myself. They are so easy. I've done it twice already. I've got power tools and a floor jack so I've got it down to a little over an hour for pad replacements. Still running on the same sensors as i've got to them before they've worn through. Maybe a little meat...

Extended Warranty price $4,000. First repair $1795. 3 years to go

Then I would have no coverage for the next three years. I didn't buy the extended plan hopping that I'd get my money back, much the same way I don't buy house insurance hoping the place will catch fire. I bought it just in case there is a big failure item, I don't have to shell out $10k or even...

Extended Warranty price $4,000. First repair $1795. 3 years to go

Well, as I posted here 10 months ago, I ended up buying an extended service plan as my wife's 2015 LUX was coming off warranty at with 33k miles. I paid $4k for the warranty begrudgingly after telling my wife to go find a replacement vehicle and I don't care about the price. After an...
