Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

If i were pulling that much apart, i'd definitely also do the sway bar parts seeing as the end link has to come off the lca and then the sway bar is loose.... perfect time to do that. However, it's the same when the uca are removed... which is a perfect time to put in new air struts, which is...

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

Nice! I have a separate set of wheels with Nokian LT2 studded - see avatar photo ;) You probably know already but be sure yours are as narrow as reasonable as it's the key to best grip as well as tracking.

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

Did he also check the sway bar bushings? Those make a huge difference and are pretty easy/cheap to have done. Actually there's no good way to easily test them on the car but you can feel when they are past due by a few road tests: -at neighborhood speed rolling up to a stop there would be a...

Just installed Cooper S/T Maxx tires on 18" BMW wheels

I bet it's a glitch as some countries hve the vat, then again, maybe the trade BS going on changed it for us. What I like about those 18" are the super easy to clean design. The compos look fine but have a lot of little nooks for mud and snow to just sit which is no fun back on the highway...

For those of you thinking about the upcoming winter...

Those 2 tires are worlds apart even on intent but yes the nokian wrg2/3 series are phenomenal really.

Just installed Cooper S/T Maxx tires on 18" BMW wheels

Agreed, nonsense that's just easier for a dealer to say so as to stay out of liability. If this idea had any basis whatsoever, nobody would be upgrading countless BMW AUDI etc etc etc cars to "big brake" kits all on cars with ABS. Scott Brady comes across as a fantastic social media marketer...

    Hello from Northern California

That era is my favorite interior. Still very English/BMW in styling and design.

Just installed Cooper S/T Maxx tires on 18" BMW wheels

If I had an lr4, and I probably will at some point, I'd make the brake conversion to 17" as high a priority as adding a 2nd battery and skid plates.

Just installed Cooper S/T Maxx tires on 18" BMW wheels

-this is why i really like the path of choosing higher rated wheels like the compos and those sold by mudtech rather than going backwards by even the smallest %. I wouldn't attribute "more metal" in any wheel to inherent strength considering that forged wheels have less material while being...

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

Haha. I learned something in this thread concerning the wide varieties available. Maybe I'll try these next time now knowing there are softer versions. The primary issue to me was shops like lucky8 touting how stiff the orange ones would be and I see zero need for increasing the vibration...

Just installed Cooper S/T Maxx tires on 18" BMW wheels

So the bmw wheels are barely rated to static load many lr3/4 builds end up at when loaded.... static, while parked, not even during dynamic loading. Sounds great. Why am I posting in the lr4 forum? So new lr4 people will stop for a moment to consider the weak approach to this wheel issue...

Yep you're one of those types who's too cheap to be bothered with best practices.

Just installed Cooper S/T Maxx tires on 18" BMW wheels

All BMW wheels are used on vehicles that weigh significantly less than an lr4. You should probably not be pushing the idea to use wheels that are not shown to have load ratings required by our vehicles. Using them yourself is one thing but advocating the idea is ill advised.

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

What? You said right here I was clueless for such an idea which assumes you support the opposite: "Because, again, only someone who is clueless about the LCA bushings on a LR4 would state "LOL - oem bushings sure as heck last a lot longer than 60-70k." I didn't take you to be so clueless...

Just installed Cooper S/T Maxx tires on 18" BMW wheels

Not sure why you mention "Indian" or hardly even British seeing as the entire development and production time was during Ford ownership. Hence some stuff great and some stuff shit. Personally, I wouldn't consider for a moment these other wheels not intended at all for off road abuses or...

Just installed Cooper S/T Maxx tires on 18" BMW wheels

Probably will be fine but I wouldn't want to have them on some of the rockier trails where you can end up with 90% of the weight over 2 wheels and side loaded or against rocks. Just sounds like a lot of trouble to just add more uncertainty considering how stout the Compomotive wheels are even...

    the LR4 19inch tire dilemma

Hey thanks for the name calling but your research apparently didn't consider there's next to zero chance that bmw wheel is rated to the same load as an lr3 wheel. They'll do well with the poly bushings LOL. Note that an E53 x5 weighs about 4590 vs lr4 ~5655. ~23% heavier and also likely to...

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

lol what a lightweight. truth is you couldn't handle being challenged on the idea that factory bushings are just about as good as the over-hyped poly. Now you're saying that no factory bushings last past 70.... too funny. I imagine your brake rotors don't last either lol

Green/Orange/Factory LCA Bushings from Atlantic British?

Wrong, there are way more than a "Few" crap parts on the lr3/4 rrs ;) Next week my 2004 Disco gets a full detailed Waxoyl treatment. On a tangent, Tata's stock price TTM has been getting absolutely crushed this year.
