    LR4 on 33's

That shop can for sure MAKE them fit. I think most people here don't want to have severe cutting occur though. The main issue will be where the front needs clearance turning. I have a larger diameter tire, but they cannot be used with the 25mm spacer behind the factory 18x8 ET 53 without...

    LR4 on 33's

Rods do not magically create clearance if the air compressor is dead or if flex stuffs the tire up. Rods only affect a relative computer base point. Nothing more. The mods you're planning will not help with the turning issues. You'll see. You'll learn a lot maybe. Too wide or too tall...

Well, some things are clearly not obvious to you. Have fun wasting $ and ending up with a poser ride.

I also wanted to retain full function lowered for parking garages but that also simulates if air compressor dies or really wonky terrain.

Here’s a BFG km2 285/70-18 on factory wheel. no spacer because they wouldn’t allow the tire to get that high without ripping into the fenders or turn up front without ripping into the bumper. Shown here isn’t even an extreme flex situation, it gets worse on a real trail.

    A. I should clarify why I say "crap choice". Just because a 20 comes on the vehicle, doesn't mean it's the best choice for rock crawling, or anything other than highways for that matter. I'm not talking about load ratings or even the material it's made from, just the dimensions. B. if you...

    Hey Bonz, you still around?

Also, speaking of ride quality. I'd love to meet up even just to ride in yours to see how it feels and handles compared to mine. I have an onboard compressor so we could experiment with tire psi.

Hey, I see you're in Charlotte. I'm in Cary right now for a while. Want to meet up at Uwharrie or something. I'm only only michelin ms2 right now for the big trip but it would be fine if mostly dry. I don't know of anywhere else in the state but I'm planning a beach outing soon to Hatteras

More proof the LR4 is a very safe vehicle

It's actually an "integrated body on frame" which is not the same and far superior to basic body on frame. Most "suvs" you see today, are actually just a car in an engineering sense because there is no frame but rather a shell that is the body. In some ways they are more protecting that a...

    ***BEWARE LAND ROVER KNOXVILLE! ***

What he said here. I have 2 sets, black and chrome. The black are several years on now and in perfect shape. They do say you're not supposed to use impact but I do only for removal. No need to impact on as a torque wrench is the best choice.

    LR4 on 33's

So what's the name of the shop? What have they done so far on a modern rover? There's a person who did a body lift on a range rover sport that then allowed 35 or 37" tires and due to separating the suspension zone from the main limitation, the body, it became a functional result. Maybe we...

Is a d5 a great deal right now?

Agreed. The most badass 4x4 still made isn't made in Germany like much of the Mercedes brand... Austrian Magna Steyr.

    LR4 on 33's

I gave you advice, the best being that the tire is too wide, 2nd offset too wide, 3rd that for off road a 20 is just counter productive effectively eliminating the benefits of an aggressive tire and all the work. You didn't want advice, you wanted praise or attention or something. I removed...

    LR4 on 33's

Well, going the direction myself and others have with an 18x8, I use a larger tire than is being proposed but it fully works in all conditions with minimal modifications needed. There will be nothing new gained in this effort that is not already known and experimented with. It's really no...

More LOL for you Mr. I told you then the test fit did not work and how and why. Have fun wasting $ or cutting. It's going to be one or the other. If you're cool with that, then you should've said so from the start like you mentioned in previous post saying you'll have them do whatever is...

    LR4 on 33's

LOL say hello to sawzall on your LR4. They may be the type shop who's approach is "if you want it, we can do it" which is great but also dangerous if you aren't on the same page and care what things look like upon completion and actually function like under extreme situations, like avoiding a...

    Control Arm bushings

No offense meant to your choice but it's basically a fad in my opinion. Something different for sake of being different more than an actual worthwhile upgrade or improvement. Two shops specializing in Land Rovers and English vehicles as well as vintage racing both said it's not the best choice...

    Control Arm bushings

the two odd photos are to see the surface rusty bracket that holds an engine or front differential item. It's right in front of the driver side sway bar bushing and clamp. It impedes the approach angle to the bolts on the clamp, especially the upper one. Loosening this bracket just enough to...

If you have the press, I'd consider r/r with oem type. People who go for poly have a weird idea of comfort.;p Poly do not necessarily last longer and they are harsh in my opinion. I like them on a sporty car, not my heavy beast. I replaced every bit of the suspension two summers ago with the...

Is a d5 a great deal right now?

You posted this but even that is not the full picture. MSRP of only 67k is not even one I'd own. When I build what it has to have for options, it comes to $80k no less.... you have to be crazy to spend that on this vehicle considering the similar price point alternatives such as a new Land...

Is a d5 a great deal right now?

Beth, you are the exact demographic they thought of in the design approach. In that sense it's successful. Even I like the D5 for the aspects you mention: towing, quality of ride for road trips, comfort of interior. However, the LR3/4 had a much broader cross section of actual appeal which...
