**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

OK everybody, I'm sharing 4 videos: 1 shows behind the CJB, 2 and 3 will show the source of the short that I found and repaired, and the fourth shows the wiper functioning normally again. All told, I'd say this was near 10 hours of diagnosing (yesterday and today) as well as 2 hours to do the...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

I considered just not having a rear wiper, and leaving the relay unplugged, but where I live, we're about 2 months away from crazy snow season, and w/o a rear wiper I'd not see anything behind me again until May 2022.

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

As per the title, today when I closed my passenger door, the rear wiper started running again. I can only assume that when the door closed, a wire was re-shorted to power. However, if you watch the videos, you'll see that electricity seems to be only going to the relay box where it is supposed...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

Update: wiper works normally now. I blame literal gremlins for this one. See the video

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

Hypothetically, if I were to remove enough of the lower dash to gain better access to the CJB, and if I find pin 27 has power indicating a short, what would I do? I'm definitely concerned about making things worse with my rudimentary understanding of wiring. Would I want to replace the pin...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

You're very likely correct. The area behind the CJB didn't feel wet, but the drain exits directly above that connector, so I imagine water got on it at some point. Based on my time in the passenger footwell over the last couple days, I know I won't be able to see the back of the box without...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

Confirmed power to the supply wire at the relay housing. Video link Maybe it's a BCM programming error due to the battery being disconnected so long? If its a short behind the fuse panel, I'll likely never fix it. There's no way I'm tearing out my entire dash just to fix the rear wiper.

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

OK- I had both relays checked and they are good, according to the guy at canadian tire. I'm going to double-check myself to hear them click or not. I'll check the receptacle for voltage as you recommend. There is the possibility of a short maybe behind my lower fuse panel, since I did move it...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

@jlglr4, I just looked at the diagram. It seems you are correct and the wiper relay is buried behind the passenger side rear interior panel. Hooray! The only thing I like more than messing with electrics is pulling off interior panels... Edit: I was wrong, it's driver's side (in North America)...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

Mine is a 2016 like yours. I plugged the fuse back in to get the wiper to run (ignition off) and pulled every damn relay in the engine compartment. Not a single one affected the rear wiper... I'll try to decipher the diagrams you shared, but I imagine I'll just end up driving around with no...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

How would I find the wiper relay? I have a multimeter, but between the fusepanel and the wiper motor is about 650 meters of multi-coloured wires that all run through a loom before splitting off into about 40 dozen directions. I don't even know what a wiper relay looks like, but I understand...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

Quick update: was fiddling around some more trying to figure out this problem, and now I'm getting the Eco stop/start unavailable, so I'm leaning towards the entire problem having to do with low charge on my aux battery. Maybe next car, I'll get one with even more computers and relays. That...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

Yeah, I thought that. I ran it in drive with front wipers on, then switched to reverse to see if I could trick the rear wiper into doing a single wipe then stopping. No luck. I also disconnected the battery again, jiggled the fuse panel, reconnected everything, checked the wiring loom in the...

**RE-FIXED with Videos** Rear wiper won't turn off

Hello all, I've run into an issue I couldn't find described anywhere, so hopefully someone here can help. Today I finally repaired my leaky sunroof drain. It was cracked, or course on the passenger side, right at the elbow that goes through the body. I have almost never completed a more...

Another LR4 Saved from Coolant Death

Does anyone have the part numbers for the front and rear coolant manifolds (or crossover pipes)?

Yes, all of my tools are Volkswagen related, even the jack and stands. Still building out my Rover kit.

2016 LR4 SCV6 - Block heater, now with video of location.

So I finished my block heater cord installation today. Sounds odd, since really all I did was plug in an electric cable, but it was a pain. I'm including a link to a Youtube video of the block heater location, and the mistakes I made finding it. Hope this helps others in the future, and thanks...

2016 LR4 SCV6 - Block heater, now with video of location.

I had read through these posts, but thank you for confirming that these are just about it when I comes to block heater info. Once I figure out my block heater situation, I'm going to make a proper post about the procedure.

2016 LR4 SCV6 - Block heater, now with video of location.

A This is something else I'll have to figure out. I've read so many conflicting reports of which vehicles came with heaters, which came with cords pre-installed, what the cold weather pack came with.... This may be a mystery I have to solve on my own.

2016 LR4 SCV6 - Block heater, now with video of location.

Good afternoon Roverians, This forum has helped me recently, so I reach out again for knowledge: My 2016 LR4 (purchased used 1 month ago) came with the cold weather package, according to the VIN. I have the correct cord (TMR 3600003) to attach to the block heater. Now I just need to find the...

Need a second opinion on diagnosis

Aw, bummer. I was hoping to be semi-lazy and refuse the bracket. Oh well, thank you for saving me some time.

Good tip. I bought the truck used and haven't yet checked the battery date on the main, or the Eco drive battery.

Need a second opinion on diagnosis

Thanks to the advice in this thread, I was able to confirm that this noise is from the heat shield bracket. I did this by climbing a long hill, maintaining 1100 rpm. Right at 1100 rpm the noise started, and as long as I stayed between 11 and 1200 rpm, the noise was constant. I looked under the...

Need a second opinion on diagnosis

Thanks for providing the TSB. I had a look at it, seems pretty straightforward. Another member shared with me the shop manuals and diagrams for the LR4 so I feel prepared to tackle anything that might go wrong. This is an excellent forum so far.
