Yep, everybody with a 2014 or newer LR4 has a supercharger. 1 mpg gain and a loss of 35 horsepower. ;) Don't recall anyone putting a RRS SCV8 into an LR4. For me, the 2013 LR4 has just the right amount of power. -

All Weather or Snow Tires ?
No kidding! I took out our Passport in the rain after putting on new Hakka R3 SUV winter tires. Spun all 4 tires pulling away from the first red light. Learned my lesson and took my wife's LR4 with new Nokian R3's on a long trip on a dry day. -

Do Range Rover wheels and tires fit in LR4s?
It looks like they were already refinished and who knows what the offset is. As noted above the center bore could be the wrong diameter. Just find some LR3/LR4 wheels if you want another set of 19" wheels. -

5.0 v8 timing chains
No timing chain issues at 112K miles & 32K miles. But both of mine are 2013's which have some sort of "new & improved" timing chain guides over the 2010-2012 version. -

Alternator

The general manager at my local dealership went somewhere out west for the US dealer D5 launch and test drives. When he came back, he quietly told me that anybody that owns an LR3 or LR4 will never buy a D5. He said that LR corporate took aim at the family SUV market and didn't care about... -

Airing down 19" tires
I have driven on the beach with 20 psi in both 19" and 20" tires. Could not tell any difference so I'd say the comparison between 18" & 19" would be similar. -

Airing down 19" tires
Please add a checkbox for 20 pounds. That is my choice for driving in deep soft sand on 19" wheels. Never had a problem driving about 5 miles to get home with that pressure either. I'm told that OEM wheels have a really tight bead made for airing down. -

Navigation System: Worth the upgrade?
Just use your phone for nav. It takes multiple steps just to enter a destination into the LR nav. (Hint: start with the state and work backwards) I never knew how outdated the LR4 nav was until I experienced the Garmin 3D nav in our Honda Passport. -

Another Defender hint?
Totally agree. Already offer the Range Rover Sport SVR on-road version for that purpose. Make an extra rugged Defender SVR off-road version with that V8. That cancelled D5 SVR offroad version is the one D5 that many of us may have traded-in our LR4 for. -

Are you on the original battery? When the battery gets weak crazy things start to happen. On mine, when the clock switches to military time format by itself, then I know its time for a new battery. -

Thank you so much for this post. I love my LR4 but it is getting old and feel like it's just a matter of time before a major repair comes up. I also hate missing out on the section 179 tax breaks that could go away someday. Just need to decide between a Discovery or Defender. Both my builds...- PaulLR3

How many miles on your LR4?
I was thinking the same thing after my Defender build cost came to $76K. Maybe keep the LR4 longer and get a Golf R just for fun. Would be nice to get one more manual transmission before they are extinct. -
