I tried a variety of aftermarket brakes on my LR3. In short time the rears always squealed and the front rotors warped, especially in winter. On my LR4 I'm staying with OEM rotors and pads. Replaced at 45K miles and last week at 88K miles. Always quiet, no warping and the lasting for 40K+... -

How many miles on your LR4?
I think the one comparison you can see is that all of us that had the original A6-based allroad didn't like the A4-based "smallroad" and tried to keep our allroads running forever. Same with the D5 replacing the LR4. We will try to keep our LR4's going forever. -

Lagging accel pedal?
ZF transmissions have had this issue for years. If you do a rolling stop you catch the transmission doing a second to first gear downshift. Then you suddenly ask it to go and there is that delay.- PaulLR3

Compared to the air suspension on my Audi allroads, ours are rock solid. The lifespan for the allroad air springs was about 75K miles. Not many posts here yet regarding air spring or compressor failures. Seems like the LR3 had more frequent compressor failures than the LR4. -

Sadly, I have to completely agree. Based on driving a D5 loaner and my LR4 in deep sand on the beach, the D5 wins, no contest. Trying to go uphill in sand I can feel my LR4 sinking as it tries to maintain traction. Felt like the D5 was just floating on the sand with perfect traction. Sure... -

Dealers may have a master key for it. My neighbor lost their hitch key plus it was rusted on and kept scraping the bottom of their steep driveway. Dealer was able to remove it somehow. -

Exactly...you can't tell the difference between 98 & 110 ft pounds. Anywhere in that range will be fine. It's the 200 ft pound impact air gun that will be a nightmare if you get a flat tire. And as noted above, I already replaced 3 lug nuts with twisted caps from either too much torque or... -

Totally agree about the XC90 engine. Test drove the Q7 and XC90 back-to-back and the XC90 4-cylinder felt unrefined and outdated despite being brand new. I want the Q7 3.0 in a D5. -

20” Stormer Wheels on LR4
I know the bolt pattern is the same but the RRS wheel offset is different. I think the LR4 20" wheels are et 43. You should find out what the RRS wheel offset is. They may look goofy if they stick out too far past the wheel wells. -

I would not be very confident either until I get the truth about the engine. Replacing the timing chain and chain guides is a very common issue on the 2012 LR4. It could take a couple of days as you have to pull off the front bumper to get at it, but not months. Maybe the tech installed it... -

I bet the float/sensor in the tank has gone bad. That happened on our LR3 and they replaced the entire tank & sensor. Probably the same washer fluid tank used in the LR3 & LR4. -

I had the dealer replace the moldings while my LR4 was in for a new tailgate latch actuator. They charged me $30 per molding plus $60 in labor to replace them. Part # on my invoice is CLB000010. If you want to do it yourself, you can get each molding for $21 here... -
