    Showoff Your LR4

Good score. I'll keep looking for someone selling an LR3 or LR4 and dumping accessories.

    Showoff Your LR4

Outstanding and congrats. Is that an OEM ladder on the driver side? Been thinking of getting an OEM one but they are difficult to find and look to be more involved to install than aftermarket options. The Linc in the foreground appears to be a Nautilus. My wife has one and likes it.

Rattle noise at passenger rear - outside the car

Gotcha. At least you can definitively rule it out now. Did you go with Gorilla solid lugs? I'd be interested in any recommendations that would fit my factory 2013 rims.

Rattle noise at passenger rear - outside the car

I recall a similar, almost bell-like ringing noise that I had in my '07 RR. I thought I was going nuts. We finally diagnosed that one of my lug nuts had a loose cap that was literally ringing like a bell as I drove. I had probably had a tire rotation or brake service and the thing was...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

Thanks. I saw one by powerfuluk that is mounted on the passenger side of the rear liftgate and now I'm wondering if there's a benefit to either design.

    Hitch - cracked

TBH that spot looks like a very logical failure point based on tongue weight issues, flexing, maybe the drawbar bottomed out with a trailer attached, etc. But I will agree that it doesn't look like the first place I'd expect a failure on this strange OEM piece. I'm sticking with my Rhino hitch.

    Trailer hitch & Wiring harness

I saw AB had an open box wiring kit (labeled as being for 2010-2013). It was only $89 vs $149 for the new one. I'd order it and give it a try. If it doesn't fit for some odd reason, you can return it or sell it. It's a fairly common DIY mod so I don't think you'll get stuck with it especially if...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

Looks nice. I'm starting to look at rack options and may start with crossbars first. Is your ladder OEM or Frontrunner or...?

Let's try to get the facts down on tensioner issues

2013 5.0L with 71K miles. I acquired it at 30K and have done 6-7 oil changes in that time, all with Castrol recommended oil. Can't speak to maintenance or OCI prior to Oct 2017 but it was extremely clean when I brought it home, got an excellent bill of health from my indy, and is running quiet...

    Another Defender hint?

Good points from a tech perspective (I agree) but from a marketing standpoint who wouldn't want to say that demand/interest crashed our site minutes into the reveal? Just adds to the buzz on top of the fact that they showed us what appears to be a cool product that presses a lot of buttons in...

LR4 suddenly won't start/crank. Even with fully charged battery and/or jump

That sounds quintessentially Land Rover-ish. There is no further explanation than that.

Why is the "most capable 4x4" so fragile ?

The Atlantic British parts are just fine. There are mixed views on this but I would say that the consensus is that it is best all-around to replace the entire LCA assembly when you get this service. The labor is almost the same for this versus pulling them out to press in new bushings. Plus you...

    Interesting Overland setup

We follow each other on Instagram (he's @davidr.jo) and that is indeed a great looking and equipped D4. Re interior storage, you might check out @charactorclub who makes some nice inserts for LR3/LR4.

    Blinding splash issue

I'll admit it: My kids are grown. I smash puddles in the LR4 for myowndamn enjoyment. I think it's a blast. The massive blinding gusher of water it creates is a feature, not a bug. That said, I try to limit it to "known" puddle locations on my regular routes. Those being spots where I have a...

Anyone moved from an LR4 to a Velar?

FWIW, our local group recently did a mild trail ride with 10 Rovers. The route was a mix of tarmac and gravel/mud/wooded trails. Nothing too extreme; mostly scenic. However the route featured 4 water crossings one of which was semi-hairy. One of our members arrived in a wrapped, murdered-out...

    Part number needed - RESOLVED

OP said he just got the vehicle. When I got my pre-owned LR4 there were a few things that needed to be sorted and I didn't know or bother to ask how they happened. (but I'm curious, too):D

    Well crap!

Glad you're happy with the outcome. Even though it came at a price, that peace of mind is worth a lot in return. Enjoy your Rover for many years to come!
