    Tailgate actuator screw sizes

None of the screws in this project are torqued down particularly tightly. The new actuator should come with a set of screws if memory serves. The only other ones I think you have to remove are the ones under the little trim plugs around the edge of the curved plastic lip of the lower drop gate...

Doors won’t lock with door switch?

Gotcha, I thought he was referring to the lock button on the exterior door handle but he may not even have that feature. I have my driveaway lock feature enabled and also use the manual inside lock button when I need to traverse a sketchy neighborhood. Everything works as expected.

Doors won’t lock with door switch?

Are you saying that the keys were inside the running vehicle and you tried to lock it from the outside? If I read that correctly then the vehicle is protecting you from yourself. It won't let you lock your keys inside. Mine gives a warning double beep if I try to lock keys inside whether the...

    Electronic Gremlins D4/ LR4

Pulling codes would certainly be a good idea. It could be one or more of the 2 dozen+ ECUs in your vehicle. For starters you can have an auto parts store pull codes for you for free, or get an inexpensive tool of your own. If you're committed to the vehicle and like troubleshooting stuff on your...

    DIY Oil Change for LR4

I use my torque wrench to set the filter cap, too. When I first read OP's shopping list, I actually thought he had purchased a separate ratchet for the OIL FILL cap, not the filter assembly. Now that DID sound anal to me but it was my mistake. Still, I got a good laugh out of Ryan's comment.

V8 Coolant Manifold / Crossover & Maintenance Parts List

I saw you had yours done under CPO around 80K, what's your mileage now? Any warning signs or just PM given another increment of accumulated miles?

    Normal or chain noise?

I think regular nice long trips are just what the doctor ordered for our engines. I'm making the round trip to Annapolis a few times a week now and the LR4 just purrs along...

Ton of faults after an aftermarket subwoofer was installed (SOLVED)

I had a similar “aggressive latching” experience with the Kinivo BT device I used. I always figured that I’d rather have a BT setup that was tough to disconnect vs tough to connect. It was always connected and ready to go by the time I started the engine. The only time I’d really notice it was...

    What oil are you using?

Oddly I never even thought to ask the dealer for pricing on the filter when I get my oil. I automatically assumed they would want $40 or more or some outlandish number. I will ask next time.

I’m also a card-carrying member of the Gucci Gang. What filter are you using? I go with Mahle but this ACDelco option has me curious.

Ton of faults after an aftermarket subwoofer was installed (SOLVED)

I’m like a dog with a bone when I decide to pursue something, so I get your years-long quest for a better head unit. But in the meantime, have you considered an inexpensive band-aid for your failing BT issue? I have hyped this product many times here on the forum, but I got a $30 BTC450 device...

@thebigtruck Curious which dealer you used since we have so many here in the DMV (I used to live in Potomac and am now in Bethesda next to Avenel). I have had good experiences with Rosenthal and decent experience with JLR of Bethesda.

Thanks for the heads up. I know you mentioned 2012 specifically, but I ran my old 2011's and my current 2013's VINs through the recall finder at LRUSA.com and fortunately nothing showed up for those model years. https://www.landroverusa.com/ownership/vin-recall.html

    Windshield

I may be mistaken, but I thought Fuayo was one of the OEM sources for LR glass. Almost sure that Pilkington was not exclusive but could be wrong. Therefore maybe there’s something to MY issues and compatibility.

    Windshield

I can vouch for the quality/function of non-LR logoed Pilkington glass. I had that in my 2011 and never had an issue with heating filaments or rain sensing functions.
